a blood moon Reviews
A Blood MoonbyBitten TwiceAlejandro was a great king before he died. In life, he had been Alexander the Great. In death, he was just as large. He held two lives, one public and one private. In public, he was Lex Macedo, the Billionaire of Macedo Inc. a web-hosting giant. Privately, he had too many aliases to count, most of them some sort of derivation of Alexander. He never used a family name as this was a luxury he could ill afford. Alexander was the young King of Macedonia and skilled in the art of war and military strategies. Now, in death, he is a 2000 year old vampire who owes a debt to Satan's daughter Catalina for her pulling him from the underworld. And Jacqui who owes a debt to Alex for him saving her from being wed to the demon Xander. To pay his debt back to Catalina, he must remove the amulet from around her neck, an amulet that allowed her to stay in a human form in order to enjoy life with her human mate Carlos. She has no use for the amulet now because her beloved Carlos was murdered in an alley way, and she could not save him from being killed. Take the journey with Alex, Jack, and Lina to hell and back. You will be mesmerized by the writings of Bitten Twice. You will be transported into a world of love, passion, sex, murder and lots more! Enjoy Bitten Twice's wonderful imagination and creativity in A Blood Moon. You will not be able to put the book down, in anticipation of what the next page, next chapter holds. I have enjoyed the book so much, I am going to look into other reads from Bitten Twice. I would highly recommend A Blood Moon and I give it Five Stars. *****Reviewed byNora Barteauhttp://norachipleybarteau.blogspot.com/
I really loved this book. It has a different twist to your usual vampire book and is packed with fast pacing action.Hiding his private life in the public eye, vampire Alexander Macedo, goes to hell and back in a race against time to save the one woman he would die again for and the other he could spend an eternity with. A rogue vampire threatens the balance of power. Bred for strategy but torn between his want for love and his need for companionship, Alex battles to save all he holds dear.We meet Alexander the Great but today in the prime of his life past 30 and he's a beautiful strong vampire. He would have been a vampire for the past 2000 years. You'll learn that he's much more then that but I'll let you get into the book to find it out yourself. There are two main women around Alex in this book. First there is Jacqui, strong and business savvy who's life is saved by Alex from marrying a demon. These two are very attracted by one and another, so she becomes Alex's familiar. She keeps pushing Alex away but we keep hoping for the opposite The other woman in Alex's life is Lina, Satan's daughter, sexy and smart. She had come on earth and fallen in love with Marco until one night her beloved is killed in an attack. So she goes to Alex for help. She and Alex go way back in time. Now the story for these two is very passionate as they are lifetime partners and they share total passion together, I love that in a book. They also marry somewhere along the story and Lina accepts Jacqui to stay in Alex's life as a familiar. I found original that Lina drinks warm blood instead of going hunting, meaning she warms bags of blood but Alex prefers real fresh blood, this is what Jacki has a hard time with. She doesn't like it when Alex brings food to bed. This book is a fast read so you'll have to trouble to get through it in a jiffy and asking for more. This is the first book in a 3 part series. I give this book 4 /1/2 stars.
A Blood Moon constantly pushes and pulls through out the entire book which is interesting and keeps us on our toes. Most of the characters are facing life threatening situations or major changes which is both believable and yet almost too fantastic at times.I really enjoyed the main characters because of the unique way the author melded history into their backgrounds. However, due to the turbulent nature of this book many times the characters turned out to be one dimensional when they could have been so much better. The best part of this book is the second half when we really start to see what is really going on with the first half. You see in the first section of this book we have many different stories and points of view that it makes this book almost like a short story book. When they finally all come together its quite beautiful. She has the beginnings of a great book but the constant motion which is enjoyable but at the same time chops the story up so it seems like you have three books in one. I would have liked a little more solidarity in the story but that didn't take away my enjoyment. I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys paranormal or urban fantasy and likes a little twist in the history department. The book gets a high two and I look forward to the next book.Read more reviews at http://flyingofftheshelves.blogspot.c...
Bitten Twice weaves her magic stories again with "A Blood Moon." Alexander (Alex, Xander, Alejandro--just to name a few aliases) Macedo is actually the historical Alexander the Great but now walks the earth as part of the undead club. He is drawn to Jacqui "Jack," a human, but when Lina walks back into his life - also a member of the not-so-alive club, he decides to get reacquainted with her. Lina is a demon and the daughter of Lucifer. As hell becomes more unstable (you wouldn't think that to be possible, however--read the book! It's indeed possible), alliances are forged, enemies made, and lives of the dead and undead alike are on the line. Jack and Alex come to realize what their exact relationship entails and when one of the happy trio - Jack, Alex, and Lina - disappears not only do the remaining two come to the rescue but so does a guardian angel. The book includes many supernatural creatures that all play certain roles within the pages. Sam, Jack's friend and employee, discovers she's a witch; there are faeries, angels, demons, and vampires galore. This novel is very entertaining. There were a few places that confused me but once I read beyond them I found that things smoothed out and were explained. There were a few off-handed references to Sam and her abusive father that randomly occurred in flashbacks and I hope they get explained in the forthcoming novels.
A Blood Moon is the first in the Macedo Ink vampire series. The story is centered on Alexander, King of Macedonia. That is right; Alexander the Great is a vampire. He is kind of involved with Jacqui Bruson, a private investigator who has to have all the answers. Jacqui’s assistant is Samantha, another wonderfully complicated character. Don’t want to give too much away, because there is a lot of personal development that Sam goes through. Throw in Catalina, a woman in trouble and you have a recipe for a great story. Oh, and don’t forget the demons, angels, and police detectives. This story was well written. However, there were some things mentioned that led me to believe that there was a previous book. Alas, no. I hope my questions get answered in the next book: As Blood Rages.
I loved this book from the first page and I found myself unable to put it down. I was drawn into a world of love and murder that had me hooked until the last page. The author does a wonderful job of bringing all the characters together within the novel. The description used is excellent and helps the reader feel like they are watching the events of this novel unfold before their eyes. I loved the uniqueness of this novel and to me it stands out from all the other novels of similar themes that I have read in the pat.I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. This review first appeared on everybookhasasoul.
A fantastic debut book from the Macedo Ink Series on the Vampire theme by Bitten Twice. The story is well structured which gives the book good rhythm and pace. The plot is interesting and she does a grand job intertwining witches, vampires and werewolves. The author further does an excellent job of bringing out the uniqueness of the characters as they develop.I look forward to reading the next book in the series. This author is one to watch!
