seriously mum who s that chicken Reviews
This is the latest instalment in the Seriously Mum series and it’s every bit as enjoyable as the others. It was good to see what Alan and Lorna have been up to at the Olive Mill and I particularly enjoyed reading about the visit of Ben Fogle and the T.V crew to film them for the television series ‘Life in the Wild.’ Life is not always easy for them but the face up to all the challenges with unfailing cheerfulness (most of the time!) Catch up with their Alpacas and assorted animals that they look after as well as all their other undertakings. I don’t quite know where they get the energy. Alan has a chatty down to earth way of writing. Sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy this book.
More great stuff from Alan ParksThe adventure continues of the crazy Brits who moved to Spain to raise alpacas. I really enjoy Alan's books. He does such a good job of making you feel like you are there (and some times happy you aren't when alpaca spit is flying). This time they have even been filmed for a TV show. A great read.
A wonderful read, I really loved it! This was so easy to read, I really enjoyed it. I chuckled in quite a few places too. It's a great book. At the time of reading this I had a whole weekend of family celebrations and half of me kept wanting to get back home to continue reading this wonderful book! I liked the nice chatty style. This is a lovely, comfy, cosy read. The book starts with a summary of what's been happening since the last book; eg. Alan and Lorna have had Ben Fogle to stay and they are going to be featured on TV in Ben's new series of 'New Lives in the Wild'. This book covers their upcoming TV appearance and lets us in on quite a few happenings behind the scenes of filming. There is much more besides this including interesting animal stories-naturally some break your heart. There's also a bit of travel in here too as he goes to Budapest for a family wedding. It's a lovely, warm read, I'm sure everyone who has read Alan Parks' other books so far will be delighted with it. And maybe some will start with this one-eg. from seeing him on TV- then they have the others to read the backstory too. Alan and Lorna come across as so likeable, and, with joining in their adventures you feel like you've really got to know them and all their animals. This new book has been a while coming out after his others-it was definitely worth the wait! A wonderful read, I really loved it!
