This book was just SO good!! Each of the Sundragon sisters had a distinct personality and a unique role to play in the quest to take the throne back from the usurper who killed their father, and I loved how their stories started to weave together towards the end. Hogan's intricate world-building added so much complexity and interest, and her beautiful writing style kept me engaged throughout. Despite the pervading darkness and impossible decisions faced by the characters, an underlying sense of strength and hope was always present. I can't wait to read more of this series!*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book*

I was sucked in from the first chapter. Sisters bound by magical forces. Brother pitted against brother. And a kingdom ruled by an evil king hangs in the balance. The story is brought to life with elegant descriptions and neverending twists and turns. You'll be sucked in too.

I enjoyed this mix between a fairy tale and fantasy novel. Too bad it ended on a cliffhanger, but I guess I will just have to wait for the next one!
