Desired: Stella (Blood Courtesans) is a Paranormal Contemporary Romance. It takes place in Rome, and Ms. La Porta's descriptions easily transport you there. Stella Colonna, once a princess, has lost her family and her home. She is struggling to survive. The vampire, Fabian, is an actor that resides not far from Stella and is often seen by her standing on his balcony. When all hope is gone, Stella must make some difficult decisions. One of which brings her face to face with danger and her past. The story is a little slow in the beginning but it soon becomes a drama full of angst, passion, and love. This story is on my "Read it Again" list.

Another great vampire courtesan novel!!!I loved this one as I have most of the series. All written by different authors all with the same idea but each with their own very unique story line!! And this one was awsome.

*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***Well this was a quick read, I started at lunch time (30 minutes) then completed the book tonight, couldn't put it down. I have read 2 other stories from this series, one being Escape: Flora and the second of that series Freedom: Flora Both are great, the rest of this series is going on my TBR list, I have one more to read next which I hope is as good as the ones I have just read.So what did I think to Stella's book? - Italy, Vampires and Artists (Great Combination!)... well Monica La Porta has captured me as a fan with her other books that were based in Rome (A serious bucket list destination for me) and since its the other side of the world I will have to be content in visiting it via Ms. La Porta's books.Stella was an easy character to like, an artist who has fallen on hard times (both things I have experience at!) Italy has a lot of history, the monarchy has been disbanded but the bloodlines continue, some prosper and some do not, Stella is at the end of the line, about to be kicked out of her ancestral home, because it is in dire need of repair, and she has no money to pay for it to be repaired... Unless she becomes a blood courtesan, and although she is very wary she puts herself up for Auction. The Winner of her Auction? Well he was a Vampire that although Ancient, had not lost his humanity and I loved his honourable personality. You will see why I came to this conclusion when you read the book, but I do not want to give anything away. The book has action, suspense and romance, everything to give the reader an escape into a HEA. I hope that there will be more about Stella and her Vampire.

Desired: A Vampire Blood Courtesans Romance by Monica La Porta, Michelle Fox ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐What a great story to read! Its so enjoyable, well written and the scenes are fabulous. I couldn't stop reading and this my first time reading Monica La Porta, every book I have read of Michelle Fox I have absolutely love! This is Stella and Fabrian's story. Stella Colonnas once lived as Princess until a car accident killed her parents. Fabrian Laurentis was a gladiator in ancient Rome before he was turned into a Vampire. The characters are well developed and intriguing. From the start of this story there is temptation, action, betrayal sensual scenes and dark encounters. This is such a entertaining story to read. The Vampire Blood Courtesans series is a series of various authors, each story is a standalone story which can be read in any order and there are no cliffhangers. This series is worthy of a following. I certainly intend to read all of the Vampire Blood Courtesans series.

What happens when you fall from grace? The once prominent family has lost is societal placing and as one knows there aren't any friends there to help you once you don't have the money to stay there. A young woman finds this out early in life, but the fall hasn't stop and she hasn't hit bottom just yet.Keeping an eye out and holding the truth; he can only stand by and watch. It his maker even gets a whiff of his interest or guardian behavior he will pay the price. But it soon becomes obvious he needs to step in. "How" is the real issue. It's been years since he even spoke to her but he will makes things right.Absolute heart felt and tear jerker of a story with danger, a past forgotten and love that knows no bounds. If you haven't gotten hooked on these books by now this one will have you moved. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy for an honest review.

Highly RecommendDive head first into the wonderful world of the Blood Courtesans series created by Michelle Fox in this emotional journey and awakening by Monica La Porta. Stella's story is different in many ways from the other books in this series. The story takes place in Rome. Stella is a penniless Princess trying to save our family home. She is strong willed and determined. Like other books in this series, Stella turns to being a blood courtesan in her hour of need even when vampires terrify her deeply with good reason. The vampires in this series is not your typical vamps. They are protective, intensely romantic, and beyond sexy. All paranormal romance lovers will devour this book one page at a time.

All that's left of Stella Colonna's family estate is a large tumbling down house in the heart of Rome. She is barely making ends meet. The house needs urgent work that she can't afford. Can she sell the only thing she has left, herself? Fabian Laurentis is a two thousand year old vampire and a movie star. He has a very special reason for keeping an eye on his beautiful neighbour. This is an exciting story with lots of blood thirsty vampire fights and a nice sexy romance. It is part of the "Blood Courtesans " series but written as a stand alone. It has just about everything you can want from this genre.

This story had gripped my emotions from the very beginning. I kept reading and wondering was Stella ever going to get a break. I understand all to well when all things go wrong and it seems nothing could go right. In walks the man of your dreams (literally) and you might have that change of hope, or will you.You will not be disappointed in this journey with Stella and discover if she finally gets her happiness again. Don't forget the tissues, trust me.Until Next Time... Tabi

Although not the 1st blood courtesan book I've read it was the 1st book by this author. I absolutely loved it and read it all in one sitting.I loved the whole celebrity crush becoming a reality. Fabian and Stella are my favourite couple so far and Malvina is an excellent baddie. I can't wait to read more from this author.

A different but good taleThe back story leading up to Stella's decision was more involved than in most of these stories, but a welcome change of pace. These two are a good couple, both suffering because of the same vampire. All in all, a great addition and I'd like to hear more about this couple, even if in another book in series.

I am loving this series. I love vampire books. This is a quick read, perfect for when I don't have a lot of time to read. These characters pulled me in and I was rooting for them to get their happy ending. I love the little suspense and action. This series is exposing me to authors I haven't read before and and happy to be finding now.

Stella is a princess by birth, but she knows loss and hard work. Finding out that she is facing another devastating loss she makes the decision to become a Blood Courtesan. Fabian is the famous movie star vamp next door. These two are an interesting pair. I really enjoyed reading their story and watching how things played out. Would love to see more from them in the future.

It never seizes to amaze me how so many different authors can seamlessly collaborate. On a project like this series! Each deals with a woman in need considering employment as a Courtesan yet each book has its own story to tell and this one added perfectly to the perfection! There is need, there is attraction, desire, and extreme danger that will keep your emotions soaring! I could feel the intense pressure that Stella felt while awaiting the auction. So many great scenes in this book! A must read in this stunning series! My. Voluntary review is based against a KU copy.

Stella has been used to the finer things in life, after all she is a real live princess! However after the tragic death of her parents and now that her guardian has also passed away, this former princess is drowning in debt and about to lose her family home. Stella is on to sure about vampires but with no other options she decides to give it a whirl. Fabian is not only a vampire but also Stella’s neighbour. He was an actor in his other life but Stella is nothing but skittish around him and his parties annoyed the heck out of her! Both of these characters had secrets to uncover and the love they find is strong and electrifying! I'd sure love Fabian to be my neighbour from hell! Another strong story in the Blood courtesans series!

Desired: Stella is another installment in the Blood Courtesans Series. This is the story of Stella. She is a princess that does not like to be called princess. She has lost her beloved parents and aunt along with the family fortune. She has just been kicked out of her ancestral home and she has six months to get it up to code or the government will confiscate it and turn it into a museum. She is working two jobs and still can not come up with the money. Stella decides to become a blood courtesan to pay for her home. She sets the record for the highest bid at the blood courtesan auction. Stella has second thoughts after the auction and decides to not be a courtesan. When she gets in the limo to meet the vampire who won her, she is surprised to find her neighbor, the vampire actor Fabian. She has had a crush on him since before he moved next door to her. She tries to get out of her agreement but Fabian talks her into staying and going on a date with him. From this point the story gets a lot better. There is betrayal, vampires battle, secrets are revealed, action, suspense, and let's not forget hot, steamy romance.I have read almost all of the books in this series and most of them have been really good. There has only been a couple that were not as good as the rest. Unfortunately this is one of them. I'm giving this installment 3 and 1/2 stars because the first half (48%) was very slow and drawn out. The second half was a solid 4 stars maybe 4 and 1/2 stars. This is the first book I have read by this author and I plan on reading more to see if this is just her style or if it was just this book. I do recommend this book and series!!I volunteered to read a free pre-released copy for my honest opinion.

Nowadays, Fabian is a famous actor, whereas he used to be a gladiator, fighting in the Coliseum, until Malvina turned him into a vampire; as one of her favourites, she covets him relentlessly. Stella is a lot of things: stubborn, impulsive, romantic and poor, but she is not stupid. Curious and jealous, she wonders what it would feel like to be the lover of a man like Fabian; not a man, a vampire, and how could she be attracted to him when he scared her. Stella doesn’t realise that she has many people looking out for her, and Fabian is one of them. When Stella finds herself in an untenable position, her only recourse is to become a Blood Courtesan. By chance, Fabian finds out what Stella intends to do, and intervenes securing the winning bid; it is then that Stella decides she cannot go through with the arrangement and changes her mind. Now it is time for the two to talk, but Fabian wants Stella to know him, not the vampire or the actor, just him and to keep an open mind. Fabian tells Stella that they have met previously and how he has tried to protect her ever since that fateful day; even the fact that they are blood bound. Malvina is out for revenge and has been one step ahead of Fabian the whole time; her insane jealousy once again puts Stella’s live in danger. It is like her nightmare all over again; not horrific dreams, but memories. This was an excellent story and one which I enjoyed reading immensely, and I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending it.

PASSION THAT SIZZLES WITH A BIT OF DANGER TOO!This spine-tingling romantic tale is filled with suspense, witty dialogue, action, wicked jealousy, frightful danger, a secret that has been hidden for years, life-threatening perils, fast-moving intriguing plot, powerful vivid scene descriptions, the much wanted sensuous romance, and a heavenly happy ever after when all the nightmarish difficulties turn to dust.Fabian Laurentis a wealthy vampire and popular actor has women fawning over him everywhere he goes, but Stella his neighbor is the one he truly desires. Stella’s monetary problems catapult her into becoming a Blood Courtesan with aching sadness. Sold at a Blood Courtesan auction and meeting the vampire who bought her launches Stella into the world she never believed she would enter.A wonderfully written story that had me on edge and turning pages until the end. The backstories of both characters play an important role in this thrilling romance and certainly grab the reader’s attention. Fabian is powerful but he does have a tender side and Stella is a bit fearless too. The chemistry between the two is undeniable and their romance hits high fiery passion; loved them together. If you treasure vampire romance this is a fabulous addition to your library. {I adored this read and voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.

This story is proof of what I said before, vampires can truly have feelings, have a heart!Stella Colonnas a born princess awakens with a sweat soaked body from a horrendous nightmare that plagues her to the reality that she no longer lives the life of a princess since the night of the terrible accident that killed her parents. Now she is about to lose the only thing she has left of her past, her ancestral home in Rome. She contemplates becoming a Blood Courtesan in order to save it. She is rendered speechless when she sees her reflection in the mirror after her transformation for the auction, more so when the auction is over and realizes she has been won by a mystery vampire for a record breaking amount of 5 million Euros.Fabian Laurentis is a very ancient vampire as ancient as the Roman Collosium where he was a gladiator. Now a Hollywood star living in a time when vampires are part of society. But Fabian has lived with a secret for the past 10 years, he has been watching and protecting Stella and now he must protect her from the darkness that is his true life, other vampires.OMG, do I love these stories of the Blood Courtesans, but this one really takes on a whole new meaning about vampires.Bravo Ms. La Porta, great story!

Stella Colonna Bramante's life is not going the way she planned. With the death of her aunt she is struggling to keep a hold on her family home but the bills keep mounting and she realizes soon she will lose everything. In order to hold onto everything Stella realizes that she must do the one thing she never though she would do - become a Blood Courtesan. Will this solve all of Stella's issues or create new ones for her?I loved this book as it really showed the desperation of Stella and how far she was willing to go to hold onto her family's property.Another thing I liked was how there were a few people on Stella's side without her even knowing it. I loved her relationship with Paulo Montecalvo, her former instructor and how he tried to help her. This also led to her relationship with Mrs. Violetta. I loved how everything tied together with her bidder and how long he has been protecting her. Although the battle between him and his sirra, Malvina was definitely one for the books and I couldn't believe what they had to go through to protect themselves. Loved the history between them! This was a great read and looking forward to more!

In deep debt, Stella is about to lose her family home in Rome unless she can get enough money in a short amount of time. She is very uncomfortable about vampires, but that option, to sell herself for a month as a vampire’s blood courtesan, is the only real solution for her. Despite her nightmares, she decides to give it a try and hope for the best. But there are secrets that she doesn’t know about.Fabian Laurentis, Stella’s vampire neighbor, was an actor and very attractive. But Stella was afraid of him and did her best not to provoke him. His parties were very annoying to the other neighbors because they were so loud, a handy cover-up for his equally loud lady friends. But Fabian has his secrets as well.Stella is about to find some answers to her fearful nightmares. Can she get past them and find something that will change her life for the better? This book is another wonderful Blood Courtesans offering. Readers will absolutely love it. It takes control of your emotions and brings you along on Stella’s adventure and discovery. I highly recommend it!

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.Stella is a real life Princess but she certainly doesn't live life like one. Her parents tragically died in an accident, she was then raised by an Aunt who is now also dead of old age, and she is now all alone in the world with no money, little income from the many jobs she does, and a large bill to pay to save her ancestral home. With impending homelessness and desperate for a solution she contemplates becoming a Blood Courtesan in a business transaction with a wealthy Vampire - after all it's all business so there is no danger of love getting in the way. This was a lovely story and I really enjoyed the softer side of a Vampire being shown. It was well written and it was easy to understand and experience all of the emotions and events happening to all of the characters. I felt so sorry for her as her troubles mounted up and was definitely hoping someone could help her.

Another fabulous step into the world of Blood Courtesans. Every one of these stories captivates me and takes me away. Stella is a fighter, she is doing everything she can to keep her family home but seems to keep coming up short. When the inspectors condemn her house and her only friend ends up in the hospital, she finds herself at the bottom. Madame V gives her a solution, become a blood courtesan but can she accept all that this entails. Fabian, Stella’s neighbor, is surprised to learn Stella has agreed to be a blood courtesan. He sees this as his opportunity to finally be with Stella but he has a problem, his sire doesn’t want him to be happy. What looks to be a perfect match becomes a fight as Fabian’s sire Malvina wants to stop any chance for Fabian to have happiness. I loved every heart stopping moment while enjoying Stella’s strength and courage to persevere. Fabulous balance of drama, suspense and full on sexiness.

I love it when love prevails!Stella is a princess who's fallen on hard times. Her ancestral home is in a state of disrepair. Nightmares keep her from rejuvenating sleep. There's a vampire movie star living in the home across from her, Fabian Laurentis. She has one dear friend and mentor, artist Paolo Montecalvo, who looks after her. I enjoyed the setting in Rome. The main characters have an unusual attraction to each other. Stella has a deep sense of honor and innate strength of character that lead her to make difficult decisions to save her home. Fabian's motives for his behavior are only slowly revealed, but a fascinating aspect of the story. There were a couple of loose ends that I wished had been addressed, and a bit more violence than I personally care for in books, but, overall, a beautiful love story. Well worth reading! I recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader's copy of this book.

The flow on this started off a bit slow, I realize it was world building, but it still dragged along. Then it finally picked up with good flow, that really had me on the edge of my seat, can't put it down type of reading. This book was good, but left a bunch of unanswered questions that kept bothering me after finishing the book. Like what ended up happening to Paolo? Or if Fabian is considered a renegade for what happened, what do they do then? Are there exceptions to the rule in the Vampire world or can he somehow get around that problem for their future together? Some of these loose ends detracted from the story, almost felt like a continuation is needed, or make the story slightly longer to be able to fill in the gaps, would have enhanced the reading experience. I liked the leading characters & they felt right together. The loose ends are why I give this 4 stars.

Stella and Fabian make a great match!! My first Monica La Porta story – an interesting spin on the Blood Courtesan series!!Stella is trying to keep her family home. Her parents were killed by vampires, and now her aunt has passed away also. She is working multiple jobs, but struggles to keep up. Her neighbor is Fabian Laurentis; vampire and actor. “I was lots of things: stubborn, impulsive, romantic and poor – definitely broke – but stupid I was not. Plus, the man was gorgeous, but every time I looked at him, a shiver ran down my spine.”Stella does not know it – but they had an earlier connection, and when she is humbled into a blood courtesan relationship; a blind bid of record breaking proportions is cast for her.Danger-filled, sexy and exciting!!**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**

Great vampire romance. I have been reading vampire romance since before they became a popular paranormal genre and love them. Fabian has been watching out for Stella from a distance for years. She's had a rough time and is drawn to him but afraid of vampires. I really like that the authors didn't make vampires hidden secrets. The sirra concept was a different twist that added violence, which I personally can do without but, at the same time villains are expected in this genre. Stella is definitely lonely, financially challenged and in need of love but when she finds herself at the end of her rope she gets brave but can she accept love from the very thing she has nightmares about, Fabian the famous movie star vampire sure hopes so...
