At the end i was like thinking at first that this was the last book and i got mad because of the ending of this book, But i just saw now that it will be a fourth book, Yaay!Spoilers!?Damn the ending was clear but at the same time not, i mean It ended with that hope would go to the Olympus. So hope , xan and Athan would be living together, akward!?I just realised that they are like 100 years old? I mean xan and Athan?

I am so thankful to be a part of the launch team for Myths of Immortality. I was sent an ARC e-book in exchange for an honest review. The third installment to The Sphinx series is riveting and fast-paced. So far every book has taken place in a different setting, which keeps the storyline fresh and the plot moving. Each setting has a specific purpose and has introduced new characters. In Myths of Immortality, we read from two perspectives. Hope is the Sphinx whose family line including herself has been cursed by Apollo to become the Sphinx for a few days every month while passing as human the rest of the time. Since book 2 (Demigods and Monsters), Hope has been trying to break the curse so that she may be with the man she loves without incurring the wrath of Apollo. We also read from Athan's perspective who is the son of Hermes. He is a character introduced as a love interest for Hope from the very first book (Curse of the Sphinx) and I am happy to note has experienced a lot of character growth throughout the three books, especially this third one. For the most part, the author alternates perspectives every chapter, which was very successful at keeping me turning the pages. A Hope chapter would end on a cliffhanger, but then I'd have to read from Athan's POV to find out what would happen to Hope. During the process, I'd get hooked on what was happening to Athan! This format motivated me to read the entire novel in less than 24 hours. Xan is a character the reader met in book 2 and I fell in love with him. Due to the fact that Hope spends most of the book away from him and we don't read from his perspective, I really missed their interactions. There is a love triangle in the book series, but it's never written in an over the top way. The series is highly focused on Hope breaking the curse and the trials she has to endure in order to achieve her goals. But for those of of who like a good love triangle, the Athan-Hope-Xan triangle is entertaining. At the end of the book, there definitely seemed to be an obvious frontrunner. For the record, and without spoiling, I'm rooting for the underdog! The true star of this book is the setting of the Underworld! It is obvious there was so much research put into the development of this world. If you know a lot about Greek mythology, you will appreciate how it is interwoven into this story. And if you don't know much about it, Raye Wagner writes descriptively and clearly so you understand what is going on. Background knowledge about Greek myth is unnecessary, but a fun perk if you have it. The sensory descriptions of the Underworld were perfect. I feel as if I can imagine how everything smells exactly as the author intended. Parts of the story that were troubling felt like a bad dream, but in a good way! Like when you are trying to run away, but it's like you're running through water. The reader gets to meet fascinating characters such as Thanatos, Hades, and Persephone. And just so you know, characters you may have met in previous books are not safe. Raye Wagner does not shy away from breaking your heart. If you are two books into this series and considering reading the third, I strongly recommend you do! Honestly, the third is my favorite so far, because the story gets the point and the action happens immediately.

4.8 stars rounding up to 5I received an arc of this from the publisher in exchange for a review. The third book in the sphinx series follows Hope as she journeys to the underworld to break the curse. I loved this book, this is the best book in the series by far! Each book just keeps getting better and better. Told in dual point of view we get to see both sides of the overarching story. The underworld brought new characters, obstacles, and challenges that I never stopped wanting to read about. While the romance took a bit of a back burner, the plot really shined. I almost didn't notice the lack of romance untill it resurged towards the end. I am still 100% Team Athan! One of the few criticisms I had in earlier books was that even though I was heavily invested in the story I didn't have a huge connection to the characters. That changed in this one. I almost cried when something terrible happened to one of my favorite characters. I screamed in outrage when one of my favorites was betrayed. (view spoiler)[ OMG I was loving Thanatos so much. I loved how he was like a father figure to hope. THEN HE FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER AND WANTS HER AND SHE'S FORCED TO RUNAWAY?! AHH I was so annoyed and outraged at this. Not to mention it made me uncomfortable because I had seen Thanatos as an older man NOT around Hope's age. Then when Hope forgot everything I thought all hope was lost and I almost cried.(hide spoiler)]Myths delves deeper into Hope's past, family relations and the curse. I loved getting to know so much more about things I had constantly wondered about in previous books. (view spoiler)[ I was so happy we finally got to know what really happened with Hope's father. I knew there was more to the story. I cannot believe Apollo killed his own son for loving the Spinx. It was so wonderful to see her mother happy with her father in a beautiful house in the underworld.(hide spoiler)]We get introduced to many new characters many I hated, some I loved. (view spoiler)[ I was loving Thanatos and Hades UNTIL THEY BETRAYED HOPE AND THE SQUAD NOW I AM DONE WITH YOU PESKY GODS!(hide spoiler)]My main critique of the past endings were that while they were amazing, some elements were a little too similar. But in this one that changed. This ending was the best by far. (view spoiler)[ Poor Athan he finally finds Hope and then has to give up his immortality. Now in the next book he can't be with Hope as she travels to Mt.Olympus.(hide spoiler)] Overall:I loved every second of this book, the setting, the new characters, the action, high stakes, the battles everything. It was a lighting fast read, clocking in at 500 pages in my copy I flew through it in less than a few days. The only negative I have is I really missed the romance. I hope it is further explored in the next book. Despite, that tiny negative this is the best book Raye Wagner has written and I cannot wait to read more from her in book four. Before Reading:THIS BOOK DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A RELEASE DATE AND I WANT IT! THE ENDING TO DEMIGODS AND MONSTERS GOT ME LIKEI NEED THIS! Another superb read in the continuing The Sphinx series! This one takes us to the Underworld as Hope continues to search for a way to break Apollo's curse, so she can live a normal life with someone she can truly love. We meet some interesting new characters below and discover that she is always a commodity wherever she goes. Being as concerned as they always are, she is followed by Athan and Xan who not only brave this new level of existence to rescue her from her own naiveté but still vie for her affections and give more than any of them expected to save her from her fate. This is a wonderful adventure from beginning to end. There is not down-time because the Underworld is as constantly changing as Hope seems to be. We learn more about each of the special people in her life along with details about her own origins that no one saw coming. We watch as some of the characters closest to her go to surprising lengths to not only prove that they care but that love is not something to be trifled with. This continuing story of Hope’s quest to survive long enough to escape her enslavement to Apollo is an amazing tapestry of danger and excitement, discovery and loss, weaved for us into a story that can only be told from the mind of Raye Wagner. It is frightening and heart rending with a thread of humor looped into the fabric of the tale. I absolutely recommend the entire series, and since we’ve been to the Underworld, I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.

Athan is on the path to recovery. Hope has disappeared. And Xan has been out looking for her, without success.Hope with the help of Priska is looking for a way into the underworld to find the answers to breaking the curse. Xan, Dahlia & Athan team up team up to find Hope.Hope. Well, Hope is Hope and she stumbles into the underworld without much of a plan. She finds help in an unlikely person (or god) - but what is his motive and is he really helping.I liked Xan, way more in this story than the previous one. His motives seem a bit "purer", but I'm still holding out in case there's a twist.Athan, well let's just say he seems to be growing on me. His whole focus is getting Hope out safe and sound. Regardless, of what happens along the way.My Inner Geek was completely happy in the world that is created in this story. I guess, being a bit of history and mythology geek in Middle School can pay off! The world that was created was complex and definitely lined up with much of my previous knowledge of the myths.I really can't wait for the next book to hit my e-reader - looking forward to seeing how Ms. Wagner ties all of this up!I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this Advance Reader Copy.

It's always a treat to see a newer author get stronger with each book, and even more so when you have fallen in love with the series. The Sphinx books combine a few of my favorite myths, and there are plenty of monsters, demigods, immortals and even some humans to keep you entertained. Beyond that, there are themes of redemption and hope, coming of age and learning what it really means to be loyal. There's also some romance so no one will be left out. Well SOMEONE is, but I am not a spoil sport so I won't tell. I am happy to see this is not the end of the story, or at least with that ending it better not be (I'm glaring at you Ms. Wagner) If you're a fan of the Covenant books, but tired of people using the same old storyline, I think you'll be really impressed with this series. Or if you just enjoy mythology infused ya fiction in general.4.5 stars

I cannot express how much I love this series. After reading Book three, I'm already dying for Book four. As always, this story was very well written, wonderfully paced, and full of surprises. If you love Greek Gods and ancient folklore, definitely give this a shot.

This book follows Hope as she is continuing to try and break the curse of the Sphinx. This is the third book in the series and I would highly recommend reading the first two before picking up this book. I feel that you would be lost on portions of this book if you didn’t read the first two because it does pull facts from them. Also, if you read them right in a row you will have everything fresh in your mind!! We jump right into the action in this book just as I expect from the author and the previous book. Hope is already on her journey to the Underworld to speak with her mother about the curse. Athan is still working on recovering from an injury he received at the end of book two. This book is told through the point of view of Hope and Athan this time and is broken up into individual chapters. I enjoyed this approach since these two didn’t always spend all their time together in this book so it gave me a look at other stuff that was going on in the book to help make up the complete picture. I did have some questions if the two stories where being told at the same time and it did appear that way once I got into the reading more. In both of their stories we also get a broader view of things that have happened in the past that lead up to these events. Hope is still one of my favorite characters to read. She really grew on me in the first two books and has continued in this book. She is piecing more of the puzzle together and is also maturing in this book a lot. She is learning all the tricks that the God’s have up their sleeves and is working on learning how to deal with those tricks. I felt like in this book Hope had a large breakthrough and learned a lot about herself. I cannot wait for the next book in this series to see what happens. Also, Hope does seem to be making more enemies on her own now and not just because she is a Sphinx so I want to see how they will affect her future. I also enjoyed reading the Xan and Athan portion of this book. Athan really declares his love of Hope, which we have known from previous books and he does truly want to be with her at any expense. Athan’s main goal is to be with Hope and to break the curse. Xan totally grew on me in this book. He keeps his temper in check during this book and also we get another side of him. I feel like he does really care about Hope more than we know and I want to see where that is going to go. My one complaint with this book was a lot of action happens towards the end of the book and some of it was a little confusing. I had to go back and reread a few sections as I wasn’t fully understanding what was happening. I felt like when the action really picked up I could have used some more details of who is who and what was going on. It felt like all of the sudden there were a lot of people in one scene and a lot of action happening that it was a little hard to follow. I would suggest this book as a weekend read. I LOVE this series and have a hard time putting this book down. I just want to know what is going to happen next so for me this is a perfect weekend read!!

I really enjoyed this book. I do feel like most of it was just filler, though it was mostly the first half that was filler. It was really difficult for me to make it through the first half because it is very slow and not much happens. The second half, however, is a completely different story. A whole lot happens in the second half. There is action, suspense, and twists and turns and emotional moments, and that is what really made me enjoy this book so much. This definitely is not my favorite in the series, but it was still very good and sets up the next book pretty well. There is so much character development throughout the novel, and it was interesting to see the dynamic between Athan and Xan and then who Hope is when she isn't around Athan. We really got to see the relationships between the characters and their different dynamics. We got to see the real love between Athan and his father, Hermes, who can still be an asshole to Hope, but that's just because she's a monster and he is super protective of Athan. We also got to see more of the gods and godesses and my favorite Greek god was in this, which was pretty exciting. I loved learning more about the other gods and godesses and more Greek Mythology and how Raye interpreted those gods and godesses into this series, their personalities and mannerisms and the way they handle things. I definitely think we see my favorite god in a different light than I have seen him (meaning the Percy Jackson series), and I really enjoyed seeing her interpretation of this god.Overall, I think this was a good installment to the Sphinx series. It had excellent writing (as always), beautiful world building, and great character development. I really think the characters were the strongest part of this novel. But I am very excited for the next installment in the series, which unfortunately doesn't come out until next year. But all good things to those who wait, right?

(Source: I would like to thank the Author for providing the copy. This will not affect my reviews.)This is my mini review for the Myths of Immortality, the 3rd book in the Curse of the Sphinx Series. You should read the Curse of the Sphinx and Demigods and Monsters first before diving into this review. Beware it may contain spoilers. The story revolves around the journey to the Underworld. While Athan is still recovering from the incident between the Skia, Hope leaves the conservatory to find some answers on how to break the curse. The story also focuses on the sacrifices that demigods will make for the sake of Hope, mending a broken friendship between Athan and Xan, and it will test Hope and her friends’ trust.Things that I loved in the story:it is not only Hope’s POV but also Athan’s. Though I don’t like Athan from the very start of the book, adding point of view in the story is a refreshing start.the story is getting more serious and intense because Hope went to Underworld believing that the Hades will help her. As the matter of fact, this journey to the Underworld sounds easy but this story is full of surprises. Everything might turn tables.also…the GODS from Olympus is getting crazier.I loved how the writing of the story. Underworld is one of the things I like in Mythology and the writer delves more to that world. Truly, Raye never failed me on how the story goes. The character development is interesting since lot of things happened from previous books and here I saw how Hope molds her to become a strong woman.I am so excited to read the 4th book because the story is getting intense.

*I had received this arc from the author for a honest review*4.5 stars (may contain minor spoilers)Overall, I really enjoyed this book! The books in this series just get better and better. I really loved how Raye incorporates elements of Greek mythology and uses them so creatively and uniquely. I love how much detail was put into the setting of the underworld, with places described like Persephone's garden, Elysium etc. I also loved the new additions of the characters, like Thanatos, the fates, Hades and Persephone. I liked Thanato's character but he's one of those people you can't fully trust, especially because he's in the underworld. Like with the previous books, I continued to love Hope, Xan, Dahlia, and especially Athan, after seeing how willing he was to help Hope break the curse. The plot gets even more developed here, with more questions being answered and possibly a more clearer idea on how to break the curse is revealed. Although, one thing I would have liked is maybe more background on Xan and Athan's past lives, as I really want to know more about how they became the people they are. I am very interested to see what will happen in the next book. I hope we get to see some scenes on what the gods are thinking at Hope's determination in breaking her curse. Highly recommend the series to people who wants to see a different approach to Greek mythology and likes a strong feminine character as the lead :)

Raye Wagner just keeps on getting better with each wonderful book in the Sphinx series and I absolutely loved Myths of Immortality. How does Raye just keeps getting better and stronger! I throughly enjoyed Myths of Immortality and I loved where it took us. I am so very glad that there is another book coming as I will never tire of this series or of Raye's work. 'A handsome blond man answered. He was several inches taller than Hope, with broad shoulders and a square chin. His muscular arms were bare, and his fitted tank top revealed that his upper torso was just as strong. He raised brows and asked, "May I help you?"Everything about him made hope cringe. Her heart raced with revulsion and fear. His sky-blue eyes confirmed his heritage. She shook her head. Denial, fear, incredulity. "I'm looking for Leto Nicolas."'

Firstly thank you Ms Wagner for letting me be a part of the review team. It was a real pleasure to read and review your books. Again the book has not disappoint me. The story line and writing is even better than in the previous two books. In here we are following Hope into the depths of underworld to try and break Apollo's curse. She is still apart from Athan. In the underworld she is disappearing and her friends: Athan, Xan and Dhalia decide to follow her and help her with her mission. Their journey is full of sacrifices that many times grabbed my heart and I had teary eyes. It's dangerous and exciting at the same time. I expected it to be the last book in the series but I'm happy it's not. Cannot wait for the next part. 4.5 stars.

Like in book 1 and 2 I liked the characters and I’m a big fan of the world building but I liked this book a bit less than the previous one mostly because i found it a bit slow at timeI enjoyed knowing more about the other characters past learning more about Athan Xan and Dahlia was great the three of them are really good characters and even if the “two boys kind of fighting for the main girl” thing annoyed me a bit there were other aspects of their personality good enough to make me read past it. I can’t wait know to know how this will end I hope for an happy ending like please let everybody survive but I guess I’ll have to wait and see

OK so my hopes and expectations were wayyyy high for this 3rd book especially after the awesome sequel. And I also loved it. I don't think it would have been as good if Xan wasn't in it. Did I tell you guys how much I love Xan? I think he should get his own spin off series. So here Hope travels to the underworld so she can talk to her mother and/or Hades and of course complications follow. I really enjoyed the dual POV. I love knowing what is going on around Hope, as she creates lots of disturbances and complications. I cannot wait to see how this story ends!

A mesmerising read!A trip to the Underworld...Where the dead cannot lie...Truths are revealed...Curses need to be broken...Will Hope get her answers? Will Athan be willing to sacrifice anything and everything to help Hope break the curse?A really good and strong beginning that kept me invested in this story. The pain. The loss. The betrayal. The quest to seek answers to break the curse. All of these make this series a worthwhile read. An enjoyable and fresh story. Full of curses, Gods, demigods, monsters, action, adventure, tension, betrayal, manipulation, sacrifices and love.Perfect for readers of Greek mythology/urban fantasy.

What an amazing continuation of Hope's story! I appreciated Hope's character the most and enjoyed exploring the Underworld with old favorites as well as several newly introduced characters. The characters are very well written and they undergo a lot of character-defining moments throughout their journey. The story flowed well and the alternating viewpoints transitioned smoothly. This story is full of adventure, intrigue, and masked deception that will draw you in and keep you guessing. This is definitely my favorite book in the series so far and I'd highly recommend it!

This was a truly wonderful book, that somehow managed to improve on an already great preceding novel. Fantastic leading characters who start off strong and continue to grow, learn and develop. A strong plot with twists and turns that somehow nevertheless work perfectly, a great job of sophisticated and intricate world creation that keeps expanding, and really strong writing. I rarely give five stars but this one definitely deserved it.

Last but not leastThe story continues to draw one in. Not too angsty, good character evolution. Lots of action. Interesting plot. And last but not is an author who writes an excellent story keeping it clean and the raw language out of play. Raye Wagner tells an excellent story.

RIDDLE ME SPHINXThree books in , so far am hooked , waiting for the next book. Great way to learn about the Gods and Deities , I have never felt so clever lol. These books are enjoyably different from others in the same genre . Give them a chance see what happens.
