the most important thing Reviews
Ms. Matthews has a knack for storytelling that grips you from the start; intrigue, mystery, thrills, heartbreak, this book has it all.As the description reads:"Sometimes perfection has its price.""...a psychological thrill ride that will keep you turning pages until you get to its heart stopping conclusion."Both incredibly true snippets; However, neither fully touch upon the electrifying and breathtaking ride 'The Most Important Thing' takes you, the Reader, on from the very start.A concise plot line that is suspenseful and thrilling in all the right ways. Her characters are well developed, complex and multi-faceted, flawed and perfect at the same time. Ms. Matthews' story flows easily, building as it moves; containing just enough twists and turns to make you guess. Complete with a satisfying ending that concludes the story while also leaving room for more - masterful.I don't want to give any specific details away, it's worth the time invested to read it - from start to finish, cover to cover. I found myself feeling for Brian, while simultaneously aching for Melanie, Jeff and Jack. There is no such thing as a perfect life, and while we all wish for it, deep down we all know it to be true.A powerful first novel that keeps you wanting more, in the best possible way.
Read almost the entire book in one day! For the first time in a long time found myself saying just one more chapter and than I'll go do.... Without giving away any spoilers I will say, if you like Girl Gone but like me found yourself disappointed by the ending you WILL NOT feel the same after reading The Most Important Thing. Found myself trying to figure out the twists and turns as I was reading and I'm not disappointed to say I was kept guessing right up to the end.
Vivid, intense, page turner, deliciously twisted are just a few words I would use to describe this "New" release by M. E. Mathews. From the first page forward , I felt immersed in the story of betrayal, psychotic actions, lies, deceit and forbidden wants and desires. The premise is truly an original and I would love to see this as a movie. 5 Stars!
This was a page turner. I could not put it down until I knew what happened to Melanie. I hope this will become a series.
