I really liked these books! The connection between Zolt and Irelyn was red hot and jumped off the page. Their characters were pretty awesome and had good layers. My favorite is probably Zolt! He was a bad boy mixed with a good boy mixed with a broken boy. He kept talking about his “shadow-self”, in the first book, and I didn’t really think that it was going to manifest but oh boy did it in the end!! This story has not only red hot steamy love scenes but mystery, intrigue, and inner demons. Irelyn Wilkes is still grieving the death of her brother. That paired with the fact that she can’t seem to find her way out of the relationship that she used as a crutch, with her seemingly cold lover Marcus, is just the icing on the cake of a shitty year. She could have never known that her life would change forever while working this summer in her father’s law firm. That the crazy connection she thought she made up in her head, that was forged six years ago, was actually real. That the NFL superstar turned lawyer would remember her and make her wildest dreams come true.Zolt Hamil’s spirit, life, and mind was broken. Due to an accident that caused his NFL career six years ago Zolt is haunted every day and turned into a man that is barely surviving. His one saving grace that is keeping him from going over the edge is his angel. His seraph. His hallucination. Zolt could have never had known that returning home to Arizona, where his life was shattered, would be the place to make him whole again. Would be the same place that his so called hallucination would turn into reality. Not only were Zolt and Irelyn caught up in a whirlwind romance, I was too!! It was sort of an insta-love/lust thing going on but come on, it was six years in the making so that made it okay for me! Their chemistry was awesome but not the only thing that kept me from putting the book down. I loved the shady dealings that was going on behind everyone’s back. Marcus, Marcus, Marcus! UGH I love to hate that man! He is the perfect villain. All slimy and corrupt and icky. I couldn’t wait to read his comeuppance he so deserves a good beat down!!Indulging in Irelyn did end on a super cliff hanger that super sucked. And honestly I was a little disappointed in Zolt for just fearing the worst and letting his insecurities get in the way of really looking at the facts. But I was able to jump right into the next book since I got these books in bundle set!Being Zolt started off the day after the big cliffhanger in Indulging in Irelyn. It was a great follow up/ending to Irelyn and Zolt’s story! There was more thrills and suspense. Not to mention more off the charts hot love scenes!! Their strength and love for one another was really fantastic. They complemented each other and pick up the slack on what the other lacked. In Being Zolt we were introduced more to a character that is getting their own book and I’m super excited for that!! There was a couple things that I wish were different. In my opinion the books could have been combined into one semi big book. Book two could’ve taken out some filler chapters and since book two started right after book one, they could’ve flowed very smoothly together as one novel. Also the dialogue. Sometimes it made me giggle and sometimes it made me cringe a little bit. I just felt some of it wasn’t as natural as it could’ve been but it didn’t detract from the story at all!Overall these novels were action packed and filled with a great love as well as a great villain. It does keep you turning the page to see what more twists and turns are coming and it kept me wholly entertained. If you want something a little more than your average romance I’d say come and indulge yourself!! ;) This review and many more can be found here: http://butterfly-o-meter.com/

I received a copy of these book through NetGalley from the publisher/author for an honest review. I really liked the first book of this 2 part series. I immediately fell for the immediate love/fate idea of the characters. I also liked the story was told from both of the character's points of view. Having both sides gave me a full picture of the story. Overall, the story was intense, engaging, and the suspense part kept me on the edge of my seat.A few parts made me want to pull my hair out. These are really my impressions of the story line itself and not the author's writing.(view spoiler)[It took Irelyn way too long and back/forth to finally break it off with Marcus. I know she was scared, but other than having a bad feeling about it she didn't know during that time how dangerous he really was. When we finally did have a scene with Marcus/Irelyn, his cold attitude was uber shocking she'd stayed with him as long as she did.Due to that, I wanted to kick Irelyn in the shins for almost becoming the dreaded TSTL heroine. She was so reckless at times and putting herself in danger (and then others who had to come after her to help). She also stayed with Marcus for so long that it surprised me (particularly the not so sexy times she had with him).Zolt had some serious anger management issues! I don't think I've read a book where the hero lashed out so vehemently and totally in wrong the way he did. And then it happened more than once and during really emotional hard times for Irelyn. Yikes!I was absolutely flummoxed by the father's actions after he was confronted! As much as I did like the whole idea of fate and how they're drawn together, I did have to suspend disbelief and enjoy the story without thinking about it. A series of coincidences - the brother arranging for Zolt to move cross-country to save Irelyn had me raising an eyebrow. (hide spoiler)]Overall I really enjoyed the first book. The second had me frustrated, but I did still enjoy it and its conclusion. Good or frustrating scenes all kept me on the edge of my seat (and a few popping me off the couch - of the mother!!). I'm looking forward to starting Kenna/Sloan's story!

Indulging in Irelyn:Zolt's NFL career was shattered after an injury left him with a permanent limp. The one thing he will never forget about that day was the compassion in the eyes of a beautiful young girl. With his life turned upside down, Zolt begins a new road to life as an attorney. During his first day at a new law firm, he see for the first time the compassion eyed girl is more than a dream and her name is Irelyn. While Fate has brought them together once more, Irelyn is not a free to pursue the attraction between her and Zolt. Although her feelings for her boyfriend Marcus are nothing more than tolerance, she fears the breakup will bring out a darker side of him. If she leaves him for Zolt, will they truly find their happy ever after? This is a sizzling hot read. Well written story. Looking forward to the next installment in this series. Being Zolt: Irelyn has left her kindred love, Zolt, for her psycho ex, Marcus in an effort to save the man who has stolen her heart. Zolt is doing what Zolt always does when things get tuff, he is submerging himself in drugs, alcohol and women. Once Zolt realizes Irelyn lied about wanting to be with Marcus, he begins to construct a plan to rescue her. If he can saved the woman her loves, will they be able to rebuild the relationship as it once was or will Marcus succeed in pulling them apart? This is the second book in the Indulging series.I enjoyed this book once it got going. While I know this is erotica, I still think the book should hold some substance. The first half was laid on thick to the point I was like getting bored with the book but once they stopped "rolling in the hay" ever time I turned the page, I was sucked back in to the story. I mean Wii vibe anyone? Check out chapter 25!! Ready to see what happens in Saving Kenna! **I received a digital copy of these books in exchange of an honest review**

I may be the outlier here, but I found myself eyerolling quite a bit while reading these two books. It was sexy, I guess, but the characters all felt really cartoonish and one-dimensional to me, and I felt like Irelyn and Zolt's relationship was problematic in certain ways - she insisted that she didn't "belong" to Marcus, but she was very quick to say "I'm yours!" to Zolt. I guess it's okay to let a man possess you if he's hot and good in bed? And Zolt had quite a number of neanderthal moments - I know it's part of his character flaws, but there were moments when it was ambiguous whether we were supposed to just accept it, or whether we were supposed to hold him accountable (because Irelyn didn't seem to call him out on it nearly enough). I felt like Marcus should have had a mustache so that he could twirl it, that's how cartoonishly evil he was. I wish the story had ended at "Two months later," because everything after that felt pretty contrived. Zolt becomes NFL commissioner? His son leads his team to a Superbowl victory? The NFL decides to care about protecting women? Oh please. I did keep reading it to see how the story would turn out, and I appreciate the plot twists, so it wasn't SO bad that I had to give up reading it, but like I said, I eyerolled so much. It was okay, I guess. As I said, I'm aware that I'm the outlier with the unpopular opinion, since so many people on Goodreads loved these two books, but gah... it just didn't click with me. Sorry.

I quiet enjoyed reading this saga. It has so much mystery, intrigue, erotic sex and murder, it just keeps you guessing page after page. The large cast of characters are well developed, they come alive, you get to know them, so the surprise factor really slams you as you learn not everyone is who or what they seem to be.Zolt is an extremely complex character, he has his very promising football career snatched from him in an instant, and even this isn't what it seems to be.Irelyn finds herself in a loveless relationship with a man who treats her like a possession.....He swept her off her feet so to speak while she was grieving the loss of her brother, whom she found beaten to death outside their grandparents ranch house. She needs to end it, but she doesn't find the courage to do so until Zolt comes into her life. Together with some of his well connected friends, they start an investigation into her brothers death. Irelyn knows it wasn't some random attack. There is some kind of cover up here and she's going to find out why......but what they find, and who is involved will shake and shatter both Irelyn and Zolt to their very soul. This is a story about betrayal, greed, redemption and the strength of love.I do recommend this set to adults that enjoy " Indulging" in erotica & dark mystery.

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review. This is the first book that I have read from D.L. Raver and it was really good. If you want a book to bring the heat you may want to prepare yourself because this bring full on scorching fire! This book is sexy, emotional and has that wonderful feel of if it is meant to be then we will meet again. The idea that in Zolt's worst moment in his football career he is in pain and passing out but one face, one person grabs his attention and helps him find peace if only for a couple of moments is simply beautiful. Zolt was a football player until an accident on the field ends his career. Not one to give up Zolt becomes a Lawyer after his recovery. On his first day of work he encounters Irelyn, a woman he believed he made up on the day of his accident.Irelyn is not only a football fan but had a huge crush on Zolt Hamil. Irelyn is heartbroken when she has a front seat to the play that ruined Zolt's career. Years later she is surprised to see the one and only Zolt Hamil walk into her daddy's law firm.If you add in a controlling boyfriend, Zolts drug addiction, her parents strange behavior, and the mystery surrounding Irelyn brothers murder then you have a romance novel that is well worth the time reading.Very good read I definitely recommend it.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review *This book bundle has Indulging in Irelyn and Being Zolt, which is excellent since Indulging in Irelyn has a cliffhanger. There is also both POV's for Zolt and Irelyn which were written wonderfully. In Indulging in Irelyn we learn that Irelyn and Zolt have a deep connection even before they officially meet. They have an interesting past and a beautiful connection. Zolt is an ex NFL player that had to quit football due to an injury on the field and has been in pain and depressed ever since. Now he is an attorney. He sleeps with nameless women in a hotel and gets high on pot to ease the pain. Irelyn is working at her dads firm over the summer. When these two meet sparks fly and there isn't anything that could keep them away from each other. Or so they thought. With a crazy ex boyfriend and an unsolved murder of Irelyn's brother out to destroy them, their beautiful romance suffers. So, in Being Zolt we dig deeper into these things and see how strong their love is. And, the sex is very hot. Zolt is a hot alpha male with a kinky side. So, there's suspense and erotic romance in these books. I definitely enjoyed it.

I received a copy of Indulging Series Box Set by D.L. Raver for an honest review.Wow, I really enjoyed this series. The characters, the storyline, and the suspense had me completely involved in this book. I couldn't put it down!I really enjoyed Zolt's character, being an ex football player and fearing to get back on the field after his injury had me interested to see him overcome that fear.Irelyn's character was strong and in most parts had me loving her but at times I felt she was dragging things along and I just felt it needed to get to the point but after everything they both went through, I am happy to see the happily ever after. The entire book from start to finish was great! Thank you Dawna for a wonderful book! I am looking forward to picking up more from you.

At first, I felt that both characters were quite shallow people...an ex-football player with more money than he needed, and a girl raised in a rich family with everything handed to her. As I continued, the story got better: though all the death/murders happening would probably cause many people to grow up a bit. I thought the marriage was a bit quick, considering they had only been together maybe a few weeks?...the timeline wasn't too clear: but to do that when there were more important things going on at the time, i.e. someone's life hanging in the balance...that was a bit selfish I felt. In the end, they got better...they matured together, thankfully and overall it was a sweet ending. I will more than likely give her other Indulging books a read.

what can i say about these books? i absolutely loved them both!!! Zolt is an ex football star who was injured on the field. Irelyn is Zolts seraph. she was there on the field when he was hurt, but they didnt see each other again until Zolt started to work in Irelyn's father's law firm. It was love at second? sight. there is so much emotion in these books but they flow together so well. i love their love story. and i cannot wait to read more from this author!

I received a free copy of the Indulgence series by DL Raver in exchange for an honest review. The first book if the series, "Indulging Irelyn", is about how two people who had a chance encounter several years ago and meet again, Zolt and Irelyn. He was a pro football player on the rise who suffered a career-ending injury and she was a fan who was on the sidelines when it happened. For some reason, she felt compelled to be in his line of sight while he was in agony in the field. Unbeknownst to her, she was his lifeline during that event. He has dreamed of her ever since, even convincing himself she was a hallucination. He went to law school since his football career was over. He is hired by a prominent law firm in Arizona, home of his former team, and is on his first day of work when he runs into Irelyn. After an awkward start, they decide that they should give their love a try, despite their obstacles. Hers, a possessive and controlling boyfriend who she has wanted to leave for months and him an addiction to pot and anonymous sex. Can these two overcome to find their happily ever after? The second book, "Being Zolt", follows our couple into a frightening world of sex trafficking and murder, kidnapping and ultimately sacrifice. What lengths would you go to for love? Each chapter is from a different perspective and alternates between Zolt and Irelyn. I love when authors do that, and here I was not disappointed. The first book starts with Zolt and was really rough for me. First off, I hated his name. Zolt, short for Zolten!? I was waiting to hear some Queen movie soundtrack and see Flash Gordon sail in on his spaceship. It jumped right into his crazy, with plenty of f-bombs and aggression. I don't mind "adult" language, but I prefer for it to make sense with the story and here it just seemed to be to give him a rougher edge. I ended up liking him, though, and Irelyn, too. She is a smart girl stuck in a bad situation. Her brother was murdered and his creepy best friend swooped in to date her. He is controlling, she feels threatened by him and they have boring sex. Her father pressures her to stay with him and to pursue a "real career" as a lawyer instead of doing what she wants to do, work with animal rescues. She has a great bestie who adds some lightness to the story, which by the end of the first book it is in desperate need of. The plot builds nicely, the characters develop naturally, and the mystery and suspense is engaging. Overall, I enjoyed it and was happy to move on to the second book to see where it all lead. The second book, "Being Zolt", picked up where the first left off, definitely not a stand alone. The title doesn't fit for me, as it is about many things, not just Zolt. I felt the same way about the first books' title as well. For me, the meat of the story really developed here. Our leads grow into themselves, finding inner strength and learning who to count on and who not to. The supporting players, again, are a great addition and some of my favorite parts involve them. The tension is fabulous and had me on the edge of my seat. And, I must say, it had a great epilogue. Two in fact. I adore seeing how characters end up, hear that Lauren Oliver? Overall, I enjoyed these books. They aren't your run of the mill romance, and that is sometimes exactly what you need. I gave it 3 stars but I would say 3.5 if I could.

Indulging Irelyn I seriously need a Zolt in my life!!!If you don't believe in Kismet or fate, reading Indulging in Irelyn just may change your mind. Zolt and Irelyn have "known" about the other for 6 long years. When traumatic events past and present catch up to them, they run in to each other for real this time and the chemistry is off the charts. There are secrets that come out that threaten the happiness they found and I was on the edge of my seat with all of the angst and suspense throughout the entire book!!! Such an intriguing and steamy story you won't want it to end!! Being ZoltWOW!!! I didn't think I could be more blown away than I was with Indulging Irelyn.... Being Zolt, opens a lot more past for us to take in and with Marcus lurking around every corner you never know when there will be another twist in this angst filled story!!! I enjoyed this story, even though I shed quite a few tears while reading it. It was well worth all of the yelling I did at my kindle and no matter how loud I yelled at my kindle Irelyn JUST WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME!!!!! I loved it!! Saving KennaI have to admit that Sloan and Kenna are my absolute FAVORITE characters from the Indulging series!!! There is so much angst and suspense I was glued to every word. There were tears of sadness and joy and when all of the secrets come out, A LOT OF WHAT THE HECK moments!!! I LOVED it and I hope to see Brody and Kieran get their own stories

ARC was provided in exchange for honest review. 3 Stars.Indulging in Irelyn and Being Zolt focuses on the relationship between Irelyn Wilkes and Zolt Hamil. He is an ex NFL quarterback turned lawyer with a bum leg and serious trust/anger issues. She is the only light in his dark haze. He thinks she is his dream girl, his seraph, someone who guides him through the darkness, but isn't really there, until she is. When Zolt gets a job offer at a new law firm, he comes face to face with his seraph, his new boss's daughter.Okay, let's talk about these two books, I liked them and then I didn't. I felt that it had a good plot, but it wasn't executed very smoothly. The writing was choppy, too fast paced, and it had a little too many sex scenes. I also felt that the characters were a little too bipolar-y (is that a word?) for me. One minute they were happy, and the next they were about to punch someone in the face. HOWEVER, there is one really big thing these books did do for me, they pulled me in. Even though, I had so many other issues with them, they still pulled me in and I had to keep reading. So for that, I am giving it 3 stars.

This 2 book series was full of romance and suspense with a bit of Gone Girl meets Fifty Shades em'bed'ded! Zolt and Irelyn had a destined connection from the start. I do wish the characters' love had been a bit more developed in the reconnecting phase of the story though. The story kept attacking my inner thoughts on exactly what was going on and how it was related to the entire plot and emotional pull of the story. Some scenes were sweet and sacred, while others were tough to read and gritty. I love a book that keeps me on my toes and intrigues my brain to plunder and search for the foreshadowing hints that will ultimately help me to predict then solve the story's purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed the impact of the other characters throughout the adventure and look forward to reading more about them. Overall the book was a great escape for me from my everyday life and was a satisfying read that I am sure many will enjoy reading over and over again!!

I received an ARC of these books for an honest reviewslight spoiler I truly loved this story. Zolt was an NFL quarterback who had a career ending injury during the Superbowl. Somehow while fighting the pain he made up this hallucination of this blonde haired, sable eyes beauty...She was his saving grace. He always pictured that face when he was in so much pain and couldn't cope.Well long an behold that girl wasn't a hallucination and actually turns out to be his new boss daughter. Ha not what you think may happen. This book is full of suspense and will keep you saying "OMG"..I really love these two together and their story is romantic and chaotic at the same time. A lot goes on this book its definitely a thriller. You will not be disappointed.. The epilogue was a perfect ending to these two characters.

WE have two very different characters for this book. Zolt is an NFL quarterback who lost it all when a bad hit shattered his leg. The only saving grace of that day? A young girl in the stands who left him feeling like he conjured her up to deal with everything that was happening. Irelyn has been through a lot. Losing her brother, working a job she doesn't want, dating a guy she's not ever sure she likes, well things are about to change. Zolt is now a lawyer at her dads firm and meeting him face to face after years of thinking about him. The connection is real, quick, and hot. Both know that there is more between the two. The problem? The boyfriend and a whole lot of lies. Kidnappings, death, lies, secrets, corruption, and love make this series quite and up and down roller coaster ride. I really did enjoy reading it.

***ARC from NetGalley in Exchange for an honest review***3.5 STARSThe two parts of the Indulging series hit me better than just the first one. Here is my review of part 1:Indulging in Irelyn.Re-reading this to it's conclusion provided a better thing for me. It made more sense though the creepy factor still kind of permeated throughout. I kinda get the obsessive quality of their relationship (sometimes I felt like in bordered into the abusive). Zolt still had his jerk moments (a lot of them) and the ex was proven waaaaaay too creepy but give a good resolution to the whole thing. Dark, obsessive, steamy. I wonder, will they last?

Received from NetGalley for a honest review. I picked up this box set after reading the first book awhile ago. I glad I had the chance to read book 1 Indulging in Irelyn. I had forgot how book 1 ended. Zolt & Irelyn have always meant to be together, from the football field meeting to years later. Both stories carry the same theme, bad people corrupting good. Marcus the root behind all. As much as I wanted to like this story, it became a little to repetitive at times. - each trying to do what is best for the other and always the wrong way. Zolt & Irelyn did have a HEA. The story was enough to like but not enough to love.

    2018-11-01 17:10

I liked the story and all the twists and turns but I feel that these books would have been better without a lot the sex scenes as I felt that if Zolt had loved Irelyn as much as he made out he would not have acted out his some of his desires until everything had been resolved it just left him coming across as a selfish prick and not much better than Marcus in someways. Being British I also didn't understand understand a lot of the NFL references and so comments but this didn't spoil the story. Lastly I found it frustrating when the wrong name were used as I had to double check who was married to whom so perhaps a better proof reader might be needed!

This series is quite good. I read the first book quite a while ago and recieved the box set from Netgalley for a honest review. The first book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what wa going to happen next. The second book was a little bit of a let down. It was not quite as full of drama.Everything was wrapped up, but just a little too easy. I still enjoyed the story just not as much as the first. I am glad the Zolt and Irelyn finally got their HEA. Marcus was one sick guy. I will now read the next in the series which is about Kenna.

I enjoyed these books. they were entertaining and contained characters with complex emotions and drama filled relationships, everything you could ask for in a story. I especially liked the twist and the untimely demise of family members I wasn't expecting to go. it left me wondering what else the story had in store as I continued to read. I was pleasantly surprised with the climatic ending.

"The Indulging Series Box Set," by D.L. Raver includes the books "Indulging in Irelyn," and "Being Zolt." There are some very hot sex scenes but the story quality just isn't there, it drags on and feels contrived and forced. A lot of the dialogue was flat or stilted.
