I think this is the first book G loved immediately. We just read it a zillion times in a row. The drawings are cute and show the big bad wolf getting dressed. The last picture is kind of scary and ridiculous, which G absolutely loved.

The wolf is coming to get you, to keep him inside shut the book, but what fun would that be? Watch him put on his trousers, his T-shirt, his socks, and more. But when he’s completely dressed, watch out—he might bite! This sturdy board book is just the right size for little hands who will want to hear this story again and again. Reviewer 19

Not a big fan of books that present wolves as terrifying beasts. While they are definately NOT pets, wild wolves are shy animals who prefer to avoid humans, yet we relentlessly persecute them. In light of this, we should be past the "big bad wolf" stuff by now.

Seriously scary! Not joking....If I were a parent reading this to my child, I would need to make up another ending!I truly thought the ending would be similar to the ending of Let's Play In The Forest While The Wolf Is Not Around by Claudia Rueda - but no!

I adore the meta story of this gem. I always build it up as the scariest book EVER for my 4-5 year old classes and use my deepest growliest voice. Then, pure joy as the children realise that what is supposed to be scary can in fact be silly. It's like I'm a Boggart and the children all get to cast 'ridikulus' at me. "I'm putting on my underpants", hardly high brow humor but absolutely joyous.

Our nanny got this one from the library. I am a little surprised that my son likes it so much because the last page is a bit scary. But I think the reason he likes it is it IS scary and he can totally shake his head at the wolf and tell it to go away. The wolf is not scary at all while he gets dressed and I think that is a good message as well - not everything that looks scary is. Knowing that you can see scary things (wolves, boo's from ghosts, etc) and laugh them away is a great lesson. The book also opens up instead of left to right which is fun as well.

When I first picked up this book, I was going to put it back on the shelf because it's a bit weird. But it was the first book my niece turned pages for (they're really thick and flip up) and tickling her at the end of the book was so much fun!

Spoiler.Simple drawings of a somewhat scary wolf putting on one item of clothing in each spread until he is fully dressed... and you snap the book shut so he doesn't chase after you!Fun to read with a kid of the right age that will laugh when the book is snapped.

Excellent board book that you can practice narrative skills with while reading together with your children. Humorous ending.

I enjoyed this book until the last page...I thought that the last picture may be a bit too frightening for some children.

The more clothes he puts on, the less scary the wolf gets. I think it may be displacement activity.

    Fun, vertically bound board book.
