This was everything I've come to expect from Brad Vance's erotica stories, raunchy, dirty fun, with a good dose of heart underneath it all. Sam and Derek are equally matched alpha males, but while Sam is a bit more willing to accept and explore his newfound sexuality, Derek is digging in and fighting his. Overall a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Sam is ex-military, at loose ends, struggling to find his place outside of the military. Derek is extremely wealthy. His entertainment in life, is to get straight men to accept bets with him. The bet is if Derek can't catch them in a particular environment, they will get lots of money. However, if he catches them, they must submit to him sexually. Sam excepts the bet, thinking there is no way he can lose, after all this is what he was trained to do. This was absolutely incredible. It was a fast paced, thrilling read. Surprises and twists abound. The characters are great, and I am totally crushing on Sam. Plus, there was lots of hot man sex. If you want hearts and rainbows, then this isn't for you. But if you want gritty scenarios that are closer to real life, this fits the bill.

So, mostly it was ok.I had read Luke's Brutal Abduction - The Whole Story and was expecting a certain type of story. One that would focus more on the sexual relationship developing between the two men. That's not quite what I got here.(view spoiler)[First, I thought Sam would fight against the attraction ... or better yet, the lure of gay sex. But he quickly came about and even went out to look for it. Then the next 2 installments, Sam tries to convince Derek that they have feelings for each other, not just sex. And finally, the last installment has Sam and Derek playing heroes, rescuing a friend/fuck buddy and at long last admitting their feelings for each other (in a high adrenaline environment, of course).I had a hard time coming around to the personality of Sam and Derek as special ops, didn't really care for their macho posturing and found it even harder to understand their sexual dynamic. (hide spoiler)] Sadly, the book and I just didn't resonate. Oh well.

Idk if it was the cover, or that it was a serial, or the blurb, but I was completly surprised that this wasn't strait PWP.It had story, quite a bit of story actualy. Was it, but it was pretty good. A lot more than I was prepared for, I almost bumped it up to 4 stars, just for the shock that I got more out of it than sex. Oh heck with it, I'm bumping it to 4 stars, for the pleasant surprise of having a pretty decent story. If I had gone in expecting a story, it would have only gotten a 3. But it was a fun ride. There was a lot of rough, dubious concent sex...but it didn't over power the story. I won't recap the story, because really, the blurb is right on the mark. There is some character development, and a little touch of romance. I enjoyed it.

Multifaceted story of men learning their gay in MMA an SF Action thrillerThis book is an action thriller, gay romance after the closet doors fly open! MMA fighting and fighters lead to discovery of their true self. This mixed whit special forces action of the most professional level. Thread though this is a love story of two men who in the beginning did not know the could've another man. The sex is very erotic and hardcore, but not sleazy, rather an integral part of whole. There are parallel s to my own life story but of course mine was much more subdued. LOLThis book is one of the best reads I have had I have had in a long time. Dam free Kindle reading now I have to buy more of Vances books now that I am aware of his great talent!

If you like your love stories full of angst, military, MMA sparring, and the unusual hunt of a man to make him submit, You'll love this. These two are just about equals on all plains. Neither will admit to being gay and then something changed. One began to crave the submission and then fell in love with the Master. Getting the Master to admit he is gay and in love with him was going to be another obstacle that may prove too big to climb. There is nothing sweet, cuddly and romantic about this love story, but it is a love story with an HEA. So, if you want to get in the trenches with some heavy hitters and dirty talkers, here's the book for you.

This review was originally written for Joyfully Jay and can be accessed here: Stars!I have had this book in my TBR for TOO LONG! This is a five-book set that chronicles the unorthodox love story between retired Special Forces officer Sam Bradford and sexually-confused billionaire Derek Constantine.Sam is flat broke when he meets Derek in a bar. Derek recognizes Sam’s military bearing and offers him a chance to earn $10,000. All Sam would need to do is evade capture for 48 hours on Derek’s rural property. If, however, Derek catches him, he will only earn $1000. Oh, and Sam will be required to submit to anal sex with Derek.Sam is immediately put off. He’s not gay, and Derek protests that he isn’t gay either. It’s all about domination, in Derek’s mind. Also, Sam’s broke. He’s confident that he’ll be able to evade capture—all the training and missions he survived are testament to that, but Derek is wily. And though Sam may very well end up on the bottom, he’s not a submissive man.challenge monthLook, I can’t review these five books without revealing a few spoilers. All of these spoilers are actually part of the book’s descriptive page, however, so I don’t think it’s THAT spoilery of me. Derek does win. He captures Sam very late in their first game, but the actual experience is not what Derek wanted. He is used to the men he captures being willing to submit to him, but Sam is defiant and correct when it comes to Derek’s true nature. Throughout the rest of the books, Sam and Derek come to terms with their own sexuality, in different ways and on different timelines.Sam begins to investigate his newly awakened desires. He interacts with out gay men and learns that the brutal “claiming” sex that he had with Derek is not the only way to interact with a partner. He sees affectionate and caring gay relationships up close and personal with these new friends. Ever in denial, Derek seeks Sam out again, this time for a team urban manhunt, which brings both men far closer together than Derek ever expected.I really adored Sam. His fearlessness, his ingenuity. He’s a quality main character with excellent insight and a dry sense of humor. Plus, once he commits, he stays committed. His sex buddies, Eddie and Jake, are also engaging. Expect all the butchness one can handle in these reads. Eddie, the consummate bottom, is a powerful man in his own right. As the volumes go on, the sex on the page begins with dubious consent and ends with actual tenderness. I found the give and take of Derek’s growth as a gay man to be so intriguing. As Sam submits more and more to Derek’s tough brand of love, Derek rewards him with more and more public statements of their relationship. Derek seeing Sam engage with Eddie and Jake is a turning point for their relationship—no longer is Sam only a bottom, and the playful sexytimes they share opens the possibilities in Derek’s mind.It is clear that Derek is a self-loathing, closeted gay man, something Sam exploits early in their acquaintance, but the changes wrought over the course of the books are a complete 180 for Derek. Not that Sam didn’t have a big change, because he did. He just achieved it with far less self-flagellation.The erotic twist on “the most dangerous game” theme, here was so enjoyable and made for a very compelling read. The second one volume ended, I turned the page for more. The bonus Eddie and Jake submission story was yummy, too. Warning: if you are looking for a “safe sex” book, this is not it; expect down-and-dirty fluid exchange.

Surprisingly Most of this I liked, even with the more brutal side of gay sex. Perhaps due to the way the author describes it, almost like getting lost in your head and/or a switch being flipped...Sam’s Reluctant SubmissionSet the tone.. Sam almost makes it to the end and gets caught. BUT he turns the table on Derek and denies him what he REALLY wants.. Surrender. Submitting but not surrenderingSam’s Reluctant Submission II: Urban ManhuntI almost was hoping for a group thing but then getting a little more info on the other guys and I was glad that Sam was able to show his not so push over-ness ex militariness. I did find their final confrontation a bit confusing. Instead of hiding they meet up and settle boxing style with explosive results.Sam’s Reluctant Submission III: Search and RescueThis is the bad apple in the bunch to me...Sam decides to do a little exploring with his buddies and learns the other side of the fence. Then he gets a call from Derek for help. HERE's where ya lost me...Derek got the better of Sam twice and is a lot more than he seems, successfully tracking and catching Sam in the forest in first situation. WHY does he need help from Sam, he doesn't know his own friends that are reliable and he has none of his OWN skills? Plus the rescue was a joke. Sam got a few guys together and a dog pointed in direction and he basically tells Derek how he's figuring stuff out with footprints.Sam’s Reluctant Submission IV: Avenging DevilsWith the past coming back to bite.. this was an adventurous end to the saga. A little group sex session where Derek learns another side to Sam and opens his eyes up. Sam.. and Derek... in action with a real rescue. And a satisfying conclusion and admission for the guys, making everyone happy and well rounded.BONUS STORY - Eddie’s MMA Submission – the story of Sam’s friends Eddie and JakeSince we hear about what happened more or less from Eddy telling Sam the story I wasn't keen on basically rereading it even with all the deets to be told...The beginning wasn't what I expected.. I thought of Jake being more 'in the closet' like than he actually was... and by the time we get to the fight I'm now on board with details. I didn't find it as good as Sam but still good.

Many scenes smoldered and the physicality was well-choreographed. I have not enjoyed a serialized story this much since Kora Knight's Up-Ending Tad trilogy. The elements of pursuit and discovery and the differences between submission and surrender as well as between boundaries and limits brought the story to life. The lazy way to write a GFY-type MC is to make him a bit oblivious to cues around him, dumbing him down, as an attempt to explain a sudden revelation of unexpected desire. Vance managed the trajectory of changes by focusing on Sam's intuition to work through reasonable uncertainties and fears. For example, Sam thought, "This is what I paid for, this is what I bought with my submission. These moments, this affection, this acceptance."In the case of Derek, brevity could have left this MC one-dimensional. However, we see the long game Derek's playing through Sam's eyes, when he realized the length of preparation which led to the piercing scene. "Derek had been rewiring his brain, rerouting its attention, its capacity for pleasure."Vance drews on wide-ranging visual and tactile analogies and full sensory details, complete with "reptilian smiles" and the "frantic pressing of the manual override on every resisting circuit of the brain." From the "firing of his whole body like slingshot," to how Derek's two-day stubble had softened from the sweat of exertion, phrasing conveyed intensity and intimacy. Seduction was an 'overture,' and the ultimate demand Derek made of Sam was simultaneously "a black hole of an oubliette" and a "beam of light."To use the writer's own words, he stretched the moments out with stinging sweetness. What a ride.

If I had read the blurb for this book, I wouldn't have bought it. In a way, I'm glad I didn't because it made me read something I wouldn't normally read. I chose it because I heard the author interviewed and checked out which of his books had the highest review rating on Goodreads.I really did enjoy this, and although it wasn't a page turner, it was more of a book I had to get back to than many I've read. It's also erotic, and although I wasn't aroused by most of the sex scenes, I was truly engaged. I was in the mind-space of Sam as he discovers his own sexuality, giving into it little by little. And that's part of what truly makes this story work. The research conducted by the author to tell this tale is also a huge plus, as well as the fact that it is well written.I was going to give this four stars, but I had a problem with an adventure style plot twist that came from nowhere near the end. There was no lead up to it or small hints of something more sinister in one of the other character's pasts that fuels this part of the story. And while surprises are perfectly okay in a novel, this just seemed to be placed in there with no connection to anything else. Many other reviewers don't find this a flaw, so don't let my small criticism stop you from discovering this author. He's worth checking out.

what a freakin hot concept for a book!! a manhunt... two alpha guys face against each other with Sam's ass on the line (literally)this book pushed all my buttons... Former Special Forces guy and the tough cocky millionaire... i loved loved loved this book...the sex scenes were hot, raw and got my panties twisted... i love how Sam didn't question too much how he came to really like man sex meaning the author didn't make him go thru so much angst about it... he kinda accepted it and embraced it...i normally am not a fan of sharing but that threesome then foursome was pretty hot... i will def re-read this when i want to read something hot as F^%*!!! Def will be reading more from this author

I'm not a fan of switches or contests for top position between two alpha alpha males, but the writing here was compelling enough to keep me in for nearly the entire duration. (I skipped the last episode where the major switch happens.) Given a rather slow start, the book soon becomes a steamy and exciting read. Steamiest, for me, when two or three tops work over one of their bottom lovers, not once but a few times. Most exciting when that well used bottom becomes the object of some dastardly doings. At last I have a worthy addition to my Listopia list, "Best Gay Menage with One Sub and Two or More Doms".

Pretty much a Testosterone Fucktopia.Starts with an OMG! I'm gay and explores from there. Don't take it too seriously and it's fun. That said, by the last episode I wasn't that interested and haven't read the bonus feature as yet.

This was slightly out of my comfort zone, but it was like eating this really delicious, four-layer chocolate cake with ice cream on top that you know is really, really bad for you but it tastes so good you keep shovelling it in.I tend to prefer longish, sweet, romantic fluff, whether it's MM or MF,and I don't usually go for dominance and submission (or menage for that matter) even though that's all the rage now with the whole 50 Shades thing (and nope, I didn't read that series. Don't ever plan to), but I read the sample for this story and then... when I reached the end, I just NEEDED to know what happens next. I guess this just caught me when I was in the right mood. I loved the hunting sequence, especially when it was Sam against 4 other guys (though thankfully that didn't end the way I thought it would). There is a lot of sex in this story. And it's brutal, and raw, and harsh --- and I realize those all essentially mean the same thing, but that's how it was. You can tell right off the bat that this was written by a guy even if you didn't pay attention to the author's name. I think that's part of why I enjoyed this so much. Because the guys acted like guys, I mean, well, not the kind you'd probably meet in real life. This is not for you if you want hearts and flowers and sugar fluff. But there is some hints of tenderness between Sam and Derek which made me want to read Brad Vance's longer books which are closer to the MM romances I usually read (and so my TBR pile just grew, damn it).Anyway, I read this when I was sad and depressed, and it's so far removed from anything remotely resembling any aspect of my life that while I was reading it, I felt like I was in this completely alien world and nothing else mattered. Ah, fiction.... what would I do without you?

Just Wow.I think this is the kind of story only a man could write and I loved every minute of it and if you knew me, you'd be really surprised.I read Luke's Brutal Abduction before and now this. I really liked them both although, from reading the blurbs I would not have suspected that I would like this author so much. I like that even though In real life I woudn't get off on any of this, Brad Vance makes me think that maybe I would (although really I wouldn't). And even though we're talking about some serious humiliation and at times, degradation, his way of telling these stories is both hot and fun to read at the same time. And it's perfectly clear that no matter how shocking this could be for the reader, it's perfectly clear too that all the characters are enjoying what's coming to them ( or on them!).I like his sense of humour. It's like he doesn't take himself so seriously, he just enjoys the hell out of writing these fantasies and makes me enjoy the hell out of them too ( I don't know how many self- imposed lines I've crossed just by reading this). I might start a fan club...and wouldn't that be ironic!I wonder if the picture he has on his profile is really him...he is supposed to be still in college but it doesn't look like that to me. He looks the way I've pictured the abductors from Luke's Brutal Abduction...

Sam is ex special forces who got out so he could breath freely without feeling that could easily be his last. While at a bar, spending the last of his money, he's spotted by Derek. As the cliche goes, Derek gave Sam an offer he couldn't refuse. Sam was then dropped off on some land owned by the wealthy Derek who was going to hunt him. If Sam wins he'll get $10,000. If Derek wins, Sam has to give up his bum to Derek and will only get a fraction of the winnings. From this moment forward the game becomes more psychological for Derek as Sam easily grabs ahold of the realization that he's gay. However they are both alpha males in their own rights and must determine how this is going to work and if one must bow soley to the other. The sex is not flower petals and scented oils in the bathtub sex. On the contrary it's no holds barred, grab onto the nearest rooted item because you're going to need something grounded for the absolute pounding that will be taking place. Through the hair pulling, face slapping, and dungeon play, there are actual feelings that begin to form between Sam and Derek. The way they manifest with each person is quite the site to behold.

I'd have bought this collection for the first story alone, and it's my favorite of the bunch. I really love the whole "the most dangerous game" feel to it. The psychological twist is every bit as hot as the sex itself, and I love the characters. As I've said before, one of my favorite parts about Brad Vance's work is that I can expect to see hot stories that somehow manage to be raunchy and well-written. It almost seems an anomaly at times, and yet it's true. Maybe I'm just a little screwy in the head, because I was a teensy bit (okay, a lot bit) disappointed in the Urban Manhunt short. You know what I wanted. I don't have to tell you. I'm not nice to characters in these situations. That being said, hot as it was, again there's a plot here. The dynamic between Sam and Derek is really interesting to watch develop; there are hints at more that I enjoyed filling in the blanks for in my own head. The self-discovery that unfolded was hot without seeming contrived, and I liked how the characters crossed paths. I'm again giving 5 stars because I've read this over and over. And I liked it. And I can.

Sam is down to his last few dollars when he meets Derek, the multi-tasking, multi-millionaire who isn't quite what he seems. When he offers Sam the chance to do what he does best, survive in the wild whilst being chased by a determined adversary, he jumps at the chance. The only thing is, if he gets caught, then his ass belongs to Derek. It doesn't take a whole lot of imagination to guess what happens...So yes, maybe the story is somewhat predictable, but because it is so well-written, with wit and intelligence, and a background military knowledge that is totally enthralling and convincing, who the hell cares? It's one thing to be able to write hot sex scenes. That is a skill in itself. And another thing to be able to create characters that people will care about, and give them a story that holds one's interest.Brad has achieved both in this super-hot story. I love Brad's work because it is so well-written, and his ability to put you right in there with the action is very clever. This is a perfect read for guys who like their M/M erotica no-holds-barred, and the women who love them!

Of Sam and I loved this story. First I must say this isn't your hearts and flowers type if that's what your looking for...this may not be for you. In this story we meet Ex-military man Sam whole is down to his last dollars trying to find life outside of the military. Derek proposition Sam during their chance encounter at a bar to be "hunted" and if caught he must submit sexually to Derek. Problem is Sam is straight, but the lure of $10,000 and his strong will to win persuade Sam to accept the challenge. So the hunt is on...and without giving away too much just know there is some hot, steamy man sex. In addition, Sam figures out away to use his military talents and forms a career and develop a thriving survivalists camp business. I like the development of the characters, the acceptance of their sexuality and I really enjoyed Sam relationship with Jack and Eddie. This story contains hot m/m sex, m/m/m scenes and m/m/m/ buyer beware. I know menage and more are not for everyone.

(view spoiler)[Ex special forces Sam gets an job offer from billionaire Derek. He hunts Sam and if he catches him, he fucks him. But he's not gay, he says. Sam's not gay either, but he admits to himself that Derek is rather handsome, in a craggy Daniel Craigish sort of way. Anyway, he's down to his last 5 bucks and he is pretty sure he can evade Derek, which means 10,000 dollars in his pocket (1,000 if he loses). He loses...but he kind of wins too, so Derek wants a rematch. Well, Sam is starting to realise that he's not straight after all, and he's positive Derek is in denial about his sexuality. Friends at his gym help him with a bit of research and yep, he's gay, but will Derek ever be able to realise the same about himself. (hide spoiler)]Rough, but consensual, down and dirty just the start (lots in the middle and end too :) Sam is strong, honest and kind. After meeting Derek he opens up without angst to new feelings with good humour and courage. Derek may take a little longer... Erotica, with a strong romantic thrust :)

To me, Brad Vance is the master of the hot, rough, and hardcore M/M stories. Finally, an author has the courage to write really intense situations and acts that reaches my need for edgy, violent smut, without making it disgusting. He has a great talent with words and his work is really polished. This is not "cheap" erotica. This has style and technique and he keeps it believable all the way.I am so tired of the stories that promise "rough" and "hard" but just skim the surface. Vance goes all the way down in our darkest fantasies, but also brings us back to the light at the end of each one. This is more a trip into unchartered territories than just quick wanking material. His characters are all strong men, even the submissive ones, but they are also human, with deep emotions and needs.I'm sure that if I read these stories again and again (and I will), I will continue to find more facets to those characters than what is obvious at first glance.

Amaaazzzzzing ReadI was lucky enough to stumble upon this author. If u like M/m books with a plot, S/m, military, and great story this book is for you.We meet Derek and Sam right away and the story starts as a challenge.Along the way we see they are both military alpha males. Who will surrender/submit to the other? We also meet some side characters that you'll absolutely fall in love with.Along the way the plots develop, friendships, and relationships. You'll watch these characters grow and learn things from each other and them selves. This book contains consensual adult situations that will cause you to need new sets of panties.I would highly recommend this book to any M/M book lovers. Can't wait to read more from this author.

I've been saving this erotic, somewhat dub-con book, as part of my holiday reads and have to say that the Author didn't let me down. Though erotica, we were actually given a strong storyline, so this is going to appeal to a much wider audience - as normally there would be no character development in the erotica marketplace, so this was a refreshing change for me. I have already mentioned the non-con aspect of the book - read the blurb carefully, it really does cover the storyline well and then you won't get any unpleasant surprises and moan the fact afterwards! Overall, an entirely different read for me than my norm, but I did enjoy it and will be checking out other books by this

Holy Moly. This is only the 2nd Brad Vance title I've ever read. Nothing about this story is typical, but I think the other title (which was also great) lulled me into a falsesense of security. This isn't your cozy and saccharine love story, retold a thousand times. The protagonist isn't cuddly and obviously romantic. Parts might make you flinch. BUT, it makes it all the sweeter when it works out for them. Suffice to say, I love the fucking stuffing out of these two, and I could have read a thousand more pages.Seriously hot. Seriously mind altering. Seriously disturbing. I love how every little facet was handled. I have not one regret.I'm looking forward to more from the author.

a really intense and interesting storyI really enjoyed this book. It tells the tale of Sam, a ex-military man down on his luck, who is offered a chance to earn some money. Derek is rich and powerful and offers Sam a chance to earn money, he must evade Derek in a wooded setting BUT if he can not, he must let Derek f**k him. That is how their relationship begins and this story was very engrossing and I was eagerly turning the pages. Lots of sex but also a good blend of action, humor as well as building friendships.

Wow this was really a great was hot, it had it's sweet romance, and it had some action thrown in too.I loved Sam and ended up really loving Derek too. Jake and Eddie were great too, I was glad to get a glimpse of how they first met at the end. So if you like a good romance with some kink and action give this one a shot. The first part is a little ummm rough but stick with it because it just gets better and better. I really loved this story and the writing style.
