There is nowhere as deceptive as a tropical island with the appearance of paradise…)Licensed to abuse, Alex forgoes all restraint. His methods of psychological torture become sadistically inventive. At the point of choosing to die, Vicki is saved by Val, who packs her friend off home to the stunned family in Portland. If you're going to self-publish (and why not?), please, please invest in a proof-reader. I have read numerous self-published books and this is by far the worst proof-read of any. Mistakes on almost every page. Worst of all, the back cover blurb appears to belong to a previous draft - two characters' names are entirely different, including the main character's (in the blurb, she's Vicki; in the novel, she's Hannah)! I can overlook a few typos, but so many and such big mistakes are hard to forgive. Especially from an author of such significance.
