A fun read and illustrations. Clearly, these monsters are suffering from a pretty intense case of pica (eating disorder). They need to seek immediate medical attention!

Monster MunchiesLaura Joffe NumeroffThis book is a counting book featuring a whole bunch of different kinds of dinosaurs. Per each number amount, there are that many dinosaurs, and the dinosaurs associated with that number all have something in common. For example, some dinosaurs are red and bumpy, while others have stripes or are very tall. All of the dinosaurs are munching on something throughout the story, and at the end of the story they run out of things to chew on, so the reader is told to close the book before the dinosaurs munch on the reader, which I think is very cute. This book would be best for younger kids, probably from Kindergarten to First or Second grade, because students in those classes are usually still getting the hang of colors, numbers, and reading in general. The illustrations in this book are very cute as well and they reinforce the text by giving the reader a visual of what the text is describing. Given all of this, I would have this book in my future classroom because it reinforces the basics, and I also already own it so it is very convenient!

This book combines colors, emotions, and counting. Each page another monster comes in with another emotion or color. This book is really cute and descriptive. Its great for early readers learning how to count. This book is different than a normal Numeroff book that is popular but it is a great book worth reading with a little one.

This is an Ok book. In my opinion, it pales in comparison. However, some students may thoroughly enjoy it. Several lesson topics can be incorporated, including colors, numbers and adjectives or descriptive words.

One of Laura Numeroff's earlier books. Her writing has much improved since then!A cute counting book that starts with one monster and ends with 20. Sometimes her adjectives don't work real well. For example, 18 scared monsters feed the pigs...why are they scared? Kids are going to ask this.

Katelyn says, "5 STARS! I think everybody should read it because then when you have to run away because then the monsters will eat you because there's nothing left for them to eat. Then you let your mom or dad get eaten. hahahahahahahaha! Or your brother! Or if you have a sister."

My 3-year-old loves to count the monsters on each page. She still hasn't figured out why they eat so many different things!
