Danny Bennett knows that most of what keeps her family feuding with the Cahill clan is baseless accusations from both parties, but that doesn’t keep her from taking sides. After all, when her fun-loving brother, Derek – the person she idolizes the most – has been accused of murder, her loyalties lay solidly with him. But her loyalty to her chosen future burns just as strong. Accustomed to living on the edge, Danny welcomes a good challenge...until she realizes she has unwittingly fallen prey to her brother’s accuser.Driven by hatred, Austin Cahill knows exactly what to do with the Bennett girl who saunters onto his jobsite under false pretenses: use her as a weapon against her brother, the man he holds responsible for his fiancé’s fatal drowning. Derek Bennett must pay for his crimes, but Austin must coax a confession out of him first. His plan to “own” Derek’s beloved baby sister should break the man, but he soon discovers a much bigger obstacle...his burgeoning desire for Danny. 4.5 StarsRomantic suspense was calling my name and it came to me in spades with the luck of the draw. And with an added ace, too, NO CLIFFHANGER in sight! J.A. Dennam is a new-to-me author who has done a fabulous job weaving sensual and emotional into a well-developed plot of forbidden love. For fans of romantic suspense, this is a must read. The author created the kind of suspense that grabs hold and doesn’t turn loose until the end.Set in the tone of a modern-day Romeo and Juliet without the poison – but you’re still going to need the Kleenex nearby -- this one pits the Bennetts against the Cahills. The two families have been feuding for generations over money and property. Although several family members on both sides have tried to end the fighting, none have been successful. The lead characters Austin Cahill and Danny Bennett meet as children although at the time he doesn’t realize she’s a girl. Her brother, Derek, and Austin have secretly formed a close friendship hoping one day to end the feud. As they grow older, the friendship is broken by events that take place fueling the continuing war between their families. When Danny applies and gets a job with Austin’s company, sparks fly and tempers rage. While danger lurks a forbidden love begins to burn out of control between this couple. There is great support by a well-developed secondary cast. Derek, in particular, will win your heart and break your heart into a million pieces with the turn on a dime. He’s such a well-crafted and multi-layered character -- one you’ll not soon forget. An very nice epilogue brings the story full-circle and is very much appreciated by this reader. *Thanks to good friend and reading buddy, Jackie P for the recommendation.

So your taking a look at this book and wondering about it and probably saying what's wrong with it because of the ridiculously cheap price? So let me tell you now, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS BOOK WHATSOEVER! It's bloody marvelous! Have to say at this time it's not the best of covers for the book but I totally get it after reading it, so don't let that put you off either. There is a multitude of indie books out there now and with much LARGER price tags than this book and yes some of those books are fab but a lot are ok and some just plain awful even with their annoyingly large cost. This book is incredibly well written and has to fall in the FAB catagory but because it has such a miniscule price tag it may very well scare readers away because it is so cheap. DON'T BE SCARED OFF TAKE THE PLUNGE because what a truly pleasant find this was and to be honest if I had paid ten times the price I wouldn't haved minded at all, as simply THIS story is THAT good. The author engages you immediately with Danny, Austin, Derek, Melanie, Mac, Sue........ literally your are engaged with ALL the characters in this book, you are living and breathing the feud and scaling trees, buildings and installations with them. Danny and Derek are a bit like free-runners except they run upwards! You'll find yourself standing in Austin's office when Danny turns up for her job, heck your standing at the gates with her as she's giving herself the talk to walk through the enemy gates. Your in the blender, your in the treehouse and your swimming in the moonlight with them. But the bones of the story is the feud and by heck do you live the feud with them, you can taste their distrust, wariness and hate of each Cahill and Bennett.Be prepared for a whole lot of anger, mistrust, ill feeling, hatred, passion, vengeance, tense, edgy, gritty, and a great plot that is bang up to date and just bloody well written. You'll find yourself laughing at some points, wiping tears at others and the need to turn the pages to get to the conclusion and I have to say even the ending was wrapped up extremely well.

Shey's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews4 StarsSometimes it’s by chance or luck that we come across a new author that we are lucky to review their books, this was one such case for me. J.A. Dennam is a new author to me and when I read the blurb to Truth & Humility it totally caught me. I am a lover of anything romantic and suspenseful. This was not a short read by any means and I read it in one sitting because it held me to the very end.Not a normal boy meets girl fall in love but one that was totally forbidden… this is a story of a family feud the Bennett’s and the Cahill’s that has been going on for generations since the 1800’s. There has been mayhem between these two families since they have been in existence and what started it? Money of course and what continues to fuel it pretty much everything, hatred, distrust yep there is no love lost between these two families. It doesn’t help that they are even competitors in the same business of demolition as well.Derek Bennett and Austin Cahill best friends as young teens hid their friendship from their parents but determined to put this feud behind them now and when they got older they would sneak around to hang out. Unfortunately outside forces saw to it that wouldn’t happen and came between Austin and Derek’s friendship and per the norm they let the feud come between.Danielle “Danny” Bennett is the youngest of 9 and also the only girl. She is very dedicated to her family and the family demotion business as well also she wants more in life than tearing down buildings she wants to building them and at 21 she wants to go to college. When her father refuses this request Danny sets out to earn her own money so she takes the best paying job out there and that is at Cahill Salvage. No Bennett has ever stepped foot on Cahill soil that is like signing her own death certificate. Danny isn’t worried because Cahill’s aren’t known to work. Wrong!Austin Cahill runs Cahill Salvage when he gets an application for a Dan Cooper it reads like a book for a Bennett so he hires the “man” never knowing all these years that Derek had a younger sister. This works perfectly for him though. Nine months ago his life changed and he knows that Derek is responsible for it so he is going to use Danny to get back at her brother. So Austin thought. Danny is nothing like he anticipated she is strong a natural leader among the men in his yard although they give her crap she handles it and him without blinking an eye. His plan to get back at her brother takes a different direction when he starts to feel things for her when he knows that their families would never accept them. You first think this is all about the feud the revenge but it becomes much more as the story unravels and it becomes more gripping more tragic as truths come out in the open and sometimes differences need to be put aside so history doesn’t keep repeating itself.Review copy provided for an honest review.

I picked this book because of the ratings, and the enemy to lover theme is one of my favorites. It had some basic annoying grammar errors, but soon I was hooked on the love story. By the third part something bad happened to one character which made me sad and not even the epilogue made up for it. Also, the suspense plot was unrealistic as dna tests wouldn’t have allowed the villain to run free. I can understand the good ratings though, since the love story was really 5 stars and author’s style was very good, kind of old Linda Howard. I’ll read more from this author in the future.HERO is a Leader, head of his family business, hard and bitter since the death of his fiancée, apparently caused by a guy from the family which has been in a feud with his for over a century. When the sister of that guy tries to get a job with him, he hires her in revenge to force his brother to confess his murder.SCENES/CONTENT: several/hotGENRE/TONE: contemporary/suspenseLENGTH: 200 pages

3.5-4.0 stars.A case of the Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s featuring the Cahill’s and the Bennett’s. Or…if you’re on the more romantic side…Romeo and Juliet. Austin Cahill– The Hero. What an ass…the way he treated Danny and her brother Derek..it WAS all his fault, ALL OF IT! Sorry, just wanted to get that out of my system.Danny Bennett – The heroine. A feisty, little firecracker. Loved her! She’s adorable and kick ass. I have a massive girl crush.Derek – Danny’s brother…loveable and a sweet, sweet brother, but oh so sad. Loved the Cahill salvage crew, especially big Mac. I also had a soft spot for Shaw. Hope he gets a girl somewhere down the line. Herb Bennett – Father of Danny…. Poor dad, it’s a wonder Danny doesn’t give the the guy heart trouble. The whole suspense part of the story was ridiculously unbelievable. But the story was entertaining none the less and damn it I stayed up way to late because I just HAD to finish it.But before I cut loose with a rant/rave….What’s this?!?…..OH HO!! There’s a bk 2 already out and what the foo?!?! If you’ve read this bk better hurry and read bk 2 because things are definitely not what they seem in bk 1. Huh…..didn’t see that coming. Interesting....

4.5 I loved this book. The dynamics between the families and relationships was off the charts intriguing to read. Honestly I couldn't put it down. Right when you thought you might have figured it out, BAM a twist happens. If you are looking for a feud dwelling, fast paced, romantic book with suspense then this is for you!! Some people might compare it to Crows Row which I enjoyed but, I liked this book better. I also really liked the fact that it was in the third person. There are so many interesting characters and stories that you were able to really experience each one. Definitely a good read :-)

Ooh the suspense this book put me through. I kind of had the feeling, but I wasn't sure until the end of the book. I feel like accomplished sleuth. lolThe story was great, the characters were realistic, although the written perspective was a little bit all over the place, I was still able to understand everything. I greatly enjoyed and would recommend for anyone who's looking for a little love and mystery.

"I don't deserve you," he said woefully after a moment, "but I don't care." His face turned up to hers. "You're mine, Bennett. I'm still going to steal you from your family."I'm really glad I came across this book because I loved it. I loved the Romeo/Juliet feel to it (without the horrible ending) and the forbidden romance. This one for sure made the favorites list. The story is about two families that have been feuding for what seems like forever, the Bennetts and the Cahill's. Our protagonist Danny is the youngest Bennett and the only girl. She is a hardworker like the rest of her family and works with her father and brothers in construction like jobs. When she decides she wants to go to college to learn more about the business and to be an engineer her father refuses to pay so she has to find a way to fund her education her self. The only way she can? To get a job with the "enemy" under a fake name. Danny knows it's dangerous to work for a Cahill especially when her brother Derek is accused of murdering Austin Cahill's fiance but it's really good money and she is the best at the work they need her to do. That of course is until she realizes her boss is the one and only Austin Cahill. This is where their story starts off...In the beginning Austin is a complete jerk that you just wanna punch in the face after you've run him over in your car. His anger towards Dannys brother Derek and their families feud made him a dick to Danny. He was rude, mean, and manipulative. After Danny's first day on the job he quickly learns who she is and after tricking her and making her break an expensive piece of property he tricks her into signing a contract saying she will work for him until her debt is paid off. He moves her out of her dorm like room and puts her in the servants quarters and makes her clean after her long day of working in the yard with his men. Agian... WHAT. A. JERK. However...As Austin and Danny fight and argue they can't deny their attraction and sexual tension they feel towards each other. They know they have to hate each other but as they see more and more of each other and as Danny wins the heart of his men he realizes he wants her.The characters where all likable. Austin was smokin' hott and Danny was so lovable. I didn't really like her bestfriend Mel (who is also sleeping with Dannys brother Derek) but I LOVED Derek. Derek was for sure my favorite character in this whole book (besides our main MC's). I also loved the relationship that Danny had with Austin's men, I have to say that Mac was my favorite. He was such a big teddy bear that was so protective over Danny. Though when he took Austin's side over the "who killed Austin's fiancé" incident I wanted to smack him in the face. Yes, I know they are loyal to the families they work for but I thought Mac would at least back Danny a little bit. He redeemed himself though. The plot was definitely a page turner. Besides the romance I loved the suspense in the plot. I loved that it wasn't predictable and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know who the killer was. I think the author did a good job of weaving the romance and suspense together. I usually don't read suspense but this book is definitely my exception because I freaking loved it. It will also make you cry. Yes, I cried, I think for a whole chapter. I had a constant flow of tears streaming down my face... one of the characters dies. That ending had my emotions everywhere. I was definitely surprised and I felt so bad for Austin but happy for Danny. And the whole ghost aspect of the story gave me chills and I loved it. The ending was definitely satisfying and that epilogue was perfect. When it was over and I finished the last page I was actually sad that I couldn't get more. I just fell in love with these characters and this story. I would highly recommend it.

*4.5 stars*When Danielle Connor Bennett -- “Danny” for short -- starts her new job at a salvage company, she knows she’s risking everything just to earn some extra money to pay for the college courses her father doesn’t approve of. Her new employer is more than just the owner of her family’s rival company - he’s her brother’s ex-best friend and a member of the Cahill family. The very family that the Bennetts have been feuding with for over one hundred years. Little does Danny know that her attempt to slide under the radar by using her middle name instead of her last name is an ultimate fail. Her new boss knows exactly who she is and plans to make her life a living hell. Payback is a bitch, but it’s nothing compared to Danny when she’s been pushed to her limit. The characters in this novel are such a treat to read about. Austin and Derek were best friends when they were boys. Sneaking around to hang out so their feuding families wouldn’t know. They promised each other the bad blood would end with them; but unfortunately, things transpired between them that would only escalate the decade-old feud and turn the once-best friends into bitter, mortal enemies. Both Austin and Derek were so well-written that I couldn’t help but love them, along with their families and Austin’s employees. Danny proved to be one of my favorite female MCs I’ve come across. This young woman knows the ins and outs of the demolition and salvage business and can lead a crew full of rowdy men three times her size while keeping them in line with nothing more than her sharp tongue and an excellent lower aim with a fast flying rubber band. She excels at climbing, knows more than most guys about fast cars, and still maintains every ounce of her femininity. She goes from hard hat and denim work clothes by day to hoop earrings and stylish shoes at night. Most of you know I have a few favorite fictional boyfriends from my books, but I think I just reached a first: fictional girl crush! Danny is so empowering and inspiring! I adore her fierce need to protect her family. She knows how to stand up for herself but, at the same time, is such a loving and caring individual. It was so exhilarating to see how Danny worked to prove herself to her new co-workers, and I really enjoyed the friendships she made along the way. And then there’s the tumultuous but sinfully delicious relationship with Austin Cahill. Danny is living with the enemy... literally. But the man she’s supposed to hate is making it really hard to do just that. They drive each other crazy, but it’s so much fun to witness. Austin is there when she needs him, and a strong manly man swooping in to save the day is swoon-worthy, sure... but a woman who rescues him and everyone around her? This is the kind of heroine books need more of. A family feud, a thirst for vengeance, and a forbidden love make Truth and Humility an incredible romantic suspense story that was impossible to put down. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. This review also appears on my blog, A Belle's Tales

I had a difficult time with this book in the very beginning. I thought this was going to be your typical present-day Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story kind of book. Then the book’s true plot entered. Danny will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. She is strong, smart, fast-tongued, witty, hard-working… you get the point. She is the total package, and she can hang with the big guys! She is more than just strong-willed, she is determined.Austin isn’t your typical salvage yard owner. He is caring and giving… except where Danny is concerned. He vows to not let her infiltrate his business. He thinks she is a spy from his family’s enemies. It takes him a while to realize that she truly wants to work for him. Although he tricks her in to having to stay employed at his yard, she toughs it out and proves herself. Then the fun begins. Not only does Danny form bonds with her co-workers, but she just may show Austin up in his own world. She also throws him through some loops in the process. Then the fun begins. Things go awry, accidents ensue, people are getting hurt. Fingers get pointed back and forth from both families. The century-old feud has taken control of everyone. No one trusts one another. Austin and Danny can’t seem to trust each other even though they have connected in so many ways that should be off limits. As lives are at stake, it is up to this cast to figure out just who is trying to hurt and kill who. No one knows what danger lurks around each corner. The biggest test of all is love. Can love survive the feud? Or will love take the lives of those around them? I can’t give away anymore of the story. Although you are probably scratching your head right now. You should be. I was for a moment or two. I got whiplash from the bouncing ball in the second half of this book. This story is well-written. It will leave you hanging for the next book in the series. Which, by the way I have read also… My oh my… This is the beginning of a wonderful, suspenseful story of two families coming together to save each others’ lives. The bond these families find is unbreakable, or is it? This is a series that you should definitely read!

Truth and HumilitybyJ. A. DennamThis is a modern day "Hatfield's & McCoy's" story..For over 100 years, the Bennetts & the Cahills have fought, shot, kidnapped, hung, burned, stolen from and accused one another of everything imaginable. Ok so, originally I thought this was like a modern day Romeo & Juliet, which it kinda was, but it was so much more than that. I LOVED IT!!!! The plot is kinda hard to explain without getting too confusing, you really do have to read it to fully understand, so I won't go too far into it. I will say that it had me hooked from chapter 1, so very hard to put down. Very interesting story line with lots of surprises, twists, intrigue, deception, hot HOTT off the charts chemistry, intriguing lovable characters, sexy alpha males, awesome lead heroine & unbelievable suspense!! What a ride!!! And I really thought I had the villain all figured out, til the reveal......I did NOT see that coming, which I LOVE. Beautiful story of finding a love worth fighting for & than actually fighting for it instead of running from it. Read this book =)

Truth and Humility is a great novel. The author does a very good job with making you feel an abundance of emotions. There were times where I literally laughed out loud, but there were also times where the novel moved me emotionally, and it could bring any person close to tears. The characters were well written. They were believable, and easy to fall in love with. The story was very enjoyable. I felt it had a little of everything. It had a little mystery, romance, and some light erotica (which I felt was done well and helped with the smooth delivery of the story.) This book would be great for book clubs/groups. J.A. Dennam is definitely an author on the rise!

I have to say I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received this book for review. It sounded good from the synopsis, but it was so much better then good!!!This book sort of reminded me of the days of watching Dallas as a kid. You have a family feud that has been going on for a very long time. In this book we have the Bennett’s and the Cahill’s and boy do they dislike each other.Truth and Humility starts out with a BANG and never really stops. From the very beginning we have Danny “Danielle” Bennett who is one head strong woman, who joins forces with the other side because of her controlling father. She’s a woman doing a man’s job and wants more out of life, college is her dream but not if her daddy can help it. When Danny applies for a job with the enemy, she knows she can hold her own but gets way more then she bargains for. Her new boss is a Cahill which she wasn’t expecting. They are not known for being hard workers like her family, but then again most of what she knows is because of the ignorance of the rumors and lies spread through the family feud. Danny’s new boss isn’t just any Cahill either. He’s the one that has accused her brother of a heinous crime. Austin Cahill and Derek Bennett were once “secret” best friends determined to end this ridiculous feud between their families. After an accident takes Austin’s fiancé he seeks revenge against the man that he believes is responsible. Austin’s relentless attempts to get back at Derek for what he believed he did are cruel and hurt people, even the people that Austin loves. But there is a secret that Derek is holding, that his whole family is holding from not just Danny and Austin, but the police as well. They are protecting one of their own and when the truth unfolds hearts are broken, lives are put at risk and loyalties are put to the test. This book had me spinning in a circle at times. I’ve always been one to figure things out before the end of a movie or a book. I can honestly say that until the moment that the truth is revealed I wasn’t sure about anything. So many twists and turns. At one point I thought I had it all figured out and that I knew what was coming only to find out that I was WRONG!!! It wasn’t until probably the very end of the book that I finally figured out what was happening and by then it was all revealed. I adore Danny she is so snarky and she can really hold her own around the men, and quickly has them wrapped around her fingers. She’s a woman of many talents and she is relentless in her beliefs, hence the reason she takes a job behind enemy lines. Austin and Derek are both very strong male characters and their both pretty swoon worthy! I really loved Austin. He is bold and daring but his need to protect the people that he loves is what makes him most admirable. From the very start I saw him as a big teddy bear hidden behind a mask of pain and resentment. JA Denning gets TWO thumbs up for keeping me in total suspense till almost the bitter end of this book. I have to be honest and say that this isn’t a book that I would have just picked up on my own and I am SO SO SO glad that the author contacted me to read and review this gem… I have to say that I highly recommend this book if you like a suspenseful love story tangled up in a whole lot of twist and turns and “I didn’t see that coming moments” then this is a book for you.I’d love to have more of this story and see it continue honestly and see what happens after the Epilogue… There seems to be a whole lot more story that could be told… hint hint… This book deserves every bit of the 5 stars I give it, and probably some more because honestly I was sad to see it end… Happy Reading!!!

Author: J.A. DennamPublished by: J.A.D.Age Recommended: AdultReviewed By: Arlena DeanRating: 5Review:"Truth and Humility" By J.A. Dennam was a wonderful romance, powerful mystery and suspenseful novel that simply one I could not put down. It truly has it all: drama, suspense, mystery, romance, action, murder, secrets and a lots of emotion and passion that will have you taking you on so many twist and turns, not knowing where this author was taking you next. However, you would definitely arrive at the right time! It was one of those novels hard to find out just who was the bad person is until the end. This was very well done with its smoothness of it all. We have two families (Bennett's and the Cahill's) that had been feuding for generation since the 1800's over MONEY and PROPERTY. This can only leave you saying OMG! Will this ever end? Also, later it seems like after a 'secretly formed close friendship during teens (between Derek and Austin) even had fallen apart due to a murder that took place. Now as the story moves on we find Danielle (Danny) Bennett who was the youngest of nine and only girl, now twenty one needs money to go to college but her father refuses so Danny set out to make her own money. So, she take the best paying job at the 'Cahill Salvage.' They won't know her...Wrong! Isn't this the enemy territory? Well, this is where I say you must pick up "Truth and Humility" to find out what the author has instore for the reader. You may think that this feud is all about revenge but as you get into the read you will see how its unfolds becoming more tragic as the truths come out in the open and you will find the epilogue will bring the stories twist and turns all the way around giving the reader a well written novel. The characters from Danny, Derek, Austin, Mel, to Mac were all well developed and intriguing. I loved how the author was able to pull you into the novel making you even to feel what each character felt. Be ready for a 'family duel, a thirst for vengeance, and a forbidden love' making this one romantic suspenseful story and I really enjoyed the author presenting this to us in third person. If you are in for a suspenseful, mystery, romance contemporary read the "Truth and Humility" would be recommended to you.

Truth and humilityWow.. Step outside of your comfort zone. Yes I did and I am thrilled! Great writing, suspense and overall it was just a good book. Fantastic! Family drama.. This book has it in spades. Well it goes way beyond that and then some.. One side The Bennett's and other The Cahill's. This book knocks it out right from the start and you catch up at the end. I tend to be able to figure out the story line - know where it's going. I honestly was guessing until the end! Danny Bennett has moxie! Her controlling father/family has pushed her buttons and now she jumped ship. She has went behind enemy lines. (Big time) She is working for the Cahill's and not just any but one with close family ties. As previously stated this book has so many twists and turns. You are sitting thinking about it for a bit. Just when I think yes that is it, one more thing thrown into my perpetual bucket of WHAT just happened?!? I loved it! Although honestly I might have used other words during the reading process. I was caught up.. What can I say? We have plots. Secrets and lies. This book has it all. Austin Cahill and Dereck Bennett leave me reeling.. Danny had no idea what was being hidden. What can happen and trust me revenge has a strong voice in this story. (Wowza!)Austin and Derek are both very strong men and well they could both be book boyfriend material.. Swoon! JA Dennam I am a fan. I am so glad I was given the chance to read this book. You gave me a non stop suspense filled love story. Thank you! I cannot wait to see what happens next. I think we have more coming? Right? Just asking? Haha! Did I mention this book has a huge insane plot that keeps you guessing.. Well just in case here is another reminder. Read it!

This is a modern day "Hatfield's & McCoy's" story..For over 100 years, the Bennetts & the Cahills have fought, shot, kidnapped, hung, burned, stolen from and accused one another of everything imaginable. The heroine, Danny Bennett, knows that most of what keeps her family feuding with the Cahill clan is baseless accusations from both parties, but that doesn't keep her from taking sides. When her best friend & older brother, Derek gets accused of murder, she stands solidly at his side. When her dad refuses to help her further her college education, she desperately takes a job to pay for it herself and unknowingly ends up in the bowels of the enemy Cahill camp. The hero, Austin Cahill, driven by hatred & revenge, thinks he knows exactly what to do with the Bennett girl who saunters onto his job site under false pretenses: use her as a weapon against her brother, the man he holds responsible for his fiancé’s fatal drowning. His plan to “own” Derek’s beloved baby sister should break the man, but he soon discovers a much bigger obstacle...he's falling in love with Danny. When Derek comes for her, will Austin be prepared to let her go in exchange for the truth? Will his quest for vengeance destroy the woman he’s grown to care for? Or will it be the truth...that brings them all down? This is one story you HAVE to read. The characters grab your heart & make you fall in love with them. The author pulls you into the story so much you feel what the characters are feeling. The book grabs a hold of your heart & don't let go. You'll be sucked in from beginning to end. This is the first book I've read by J. A. Dennam & I can't wait to read more by her. She has become one of my favorite authors & I'm looking forward to the next book.

Holy fuck!! Now, I came into this book completely blind! I knew nothing about this one, didn't read any reviews nothing. And I'm so glad because it made me Love it so much more.Talk about a fucking ROLLERCOASTER, u had action, intrigue, sadness, Happiness, smart ass bullshit talking, amd of course twists thati didn't see coming especially the first one,the second one wasa surprise but you kinda get it.Anyway, you have Austin who used to be child hood best friends with Derek, although it was forbidden because of the fued with both of there families. They didn't care they were going to be the two who would stop the fued. They were like brothers, until Austin slept with dericks girlfriend when they were teenagers. Thats when there friendship ended.Austin didn't know who she was but Derek didn't care.Years later tragedy hits Austin and in his eyes Derek is at fault.and no one can change his mind.Sometime later Danny, dereks little sister applies for a job unbeknownst to her Austin is the boss.He basically owns her fora couple weeks,he wants Dereck to admit what he'd done, so he makes sure he knows Danny is there with him, and if either parents found out it would be hell.I can't really say a shit load because i don't want to give ANYTHING away, and I promise there is twists that i didn't see coming. Let's just say it gets fucking crazy and hectic. And to get this book for FREE, I was absolutely lucky and so glad!!I need book 2, and I read the little snippet on the end after book1 and I have to say.....I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!!

Danny Bennett doesn’t just want to tear things down, she wants to build things. That is why she takes a job with the Cahills. The Family that has been feuding with the Bennett’s for as long as anyone can remember. She takes the job to earn money to go to school.Danny’s boss, Austin Cahill, wants revenge. Revenge against Danny’s brother, Derek, who is accused of murdering Austin’s fiancée. He decides to use Danny to get that revenge against the Bennett’s. But, of course, things get complicated. Austin finds himself full of desire for Danny. At the start Austin is a jerk. He is rude, mean, and extremely manipulative. However, as Danny works hard and wins over the rest of the crew, she also starts to win over her boss. J.A. Dennam wrote about the sexual tension they felt for each and I felt like a fly on the wall watching each scene play out. It was so fun to watch them struggle with what they have been taught by their families, to hate each other, and what they feel for each other, love. The plot was a page turner. The romance was hot and heavy, but the suspense was what kept me reading. The story was not predictable, which is what kept me turning the pages. I had no clue who done it and am thrilled with the ending. As I finished the book I wanted to know more, but still felt satisified, full, with the whole story. I fell in love with the characters and their stories. This is an excellent story that I highly recommend.
