This borders on sexual harassment in the workplace (which is acknowledged) and the magical dick which cures all mental issues. Thanks to former abuse Max can not STAND to be touched, by anyone. but boss Miah (I kept saying Mia but it's short for Jeramiah - never heard that abbreviation before) keeps pressuring him and essentially forces him to take a week of work and spend it at his house. That kind of presumption/pressure annoys the hell out of me and those who give into it, I'm looking at you Max, annoy me more. So of course before long, they are smexing it up and Max's issue with even a casual stranger brushing against him in a crowd setting off a panic attack is gone. All better, HEA. Eh. I thought this was 3 stars but the more I typed here the more annoyed I became with the premise that some hot sex would get him over a very serious mental health issue that years of therapy had zero impact on. Help maybe but not cure.

Everyone has an area around them that they consider their personal space. For most people, having someone encroach upon their space is annoying, but something they can just shake off and go on. However, for Max Eisner of 'Impossible to Resist' by Em Woods, it's Earth shattering. Max suffers from PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which was originally identified as shell shock by the military. However, anyone who has experienced major trauma can suffer from PTSD. Max suffers severe anxiety attacks whenever anyone touches him. Due to the severity of his panic attacks, he's terribly embarrassed by this malady, so he tries to hide it by avoiding situations that may cause him distress. His new boss, Jeremiah (Miah) Sandberg, is puzzled and annoyed by his odd behavior, mainly because Miah is attracted to Max and wants to touch him literally and figuratively, which is obviously a huge problem for Max.My heart went out to Max. Anxiety attacks are such devastating occurrences and Max made such a valiant effort to contain his. Unfortunately, his fear of humiliating himself kept him from enjoying many essential things in life, one of which is having someone to love. I could feel Max's longing for Miah and ached with him in his despair, thinking he wouldn't ever be able to be with him. Max needed to be held, comforted, and loved so badly, but his fear of intimacy kept him from doing so. In an effort to keep people away, Max seemed brisk and unapproachable. Unfortunately, his boss, Miah, didn't understand this and was angry and frustrated with Max's attitude. Miah was used to getting what he wanted, but couldn't have Max and it drove him crazy.I didn't like Miah at first. He was pushy, arrogant, insensitive, and crude in his dealings with Max. Granted, he didn't know about Max's problem, but he was too heavy handed for me. He was attracted to Max and considered his indifference as a challenge, which made matters worse. He was unbelievably obnoxious and demanding. Fortunately, after Max explained the situation, he went out of his way to be as tender and loving as possible; he worked very hard to find ways to help Max cope and ended up winning his trust and his heart. Underneath all of his arrogance, was a loving man who needed Max as much as Max needed him.Em Woods packs a lot of emotion into her story, especially considering its brevity. Her characters are interesting and compelling. I particularly admired Miah's growth when he showed the depth of his compassion and affection for Max. Realistically, it would have taken longer to win Max's trust, but considering the length of the story, I think Em Woods did a good job of portraying the healing process. Miah's therapy for Max was surprisingly effective and created some steamy, passionate moments for them. “Impossible to Resist' pleasantly surprised me with its passion and depth. I thoroughly enjoyed it and heartily recommend it.NOTE: This book was provided by Pride Publishing for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.

It should have been longer. Could have been a normal length book. The pace is a little to fast. It feels like we are thrown in the middle, but I am enjoying it nonetheless. Someone with such problems, shouldn't overcome them so fast, but he looks like he has a slighter case (he does freaks out, but got touched a lot in the beginning and really freaked out only once). The hero in a shining armor was a little much (again too much cramped in such a short story). All said, I really liked the writing and will have to check out more works of this author. Hopefully, longer ones :)

Steamy short m/m romance about a guy who's phobic about being touched, but that doesn't stop him from having a crush on one of the co-owners of the firm where he works. I did have a couple niggles: refractory periods and whether someone with haptephobia would actually change so quickly. Also, it felt like there was an awful lot of story for so few pages.

originally posted at suffered a traumatizing experience at the hands of an ex-boyfriend and has developed the fear of being touched. His past relationship left him with scars on the outside as well as the inside. Taking a job for a software company was suppose to be a new beginning for him but being around his attractive boss is just a reminder of what he will never have in his life again. Miah has been plotting for months to find a way to get to know the recluse that works for him. He is unaware of Max’s past and thinks it’s simply that Max isn’t attracted to him. Miah is a good man who wants nothing more than to get to no Max and maybe spend some alone time together and see where things may lead. Impossible to Resist is a sweet love story. Ms. Woods did an excellent job of telling a touching and realistic story in so few pages. This author has the ability to write about characters that leaves you wondering what will happen for them next. This was a very satisfying read that I would highly recommend adding to your collection.

I really enjoyed this story, it's the first one I've read by this author but it certainly won't be the last. The characters seemed very real, as did the obstacles that they were facing. I loved how Miah's charm and control flew out the window when he was dealing with Max and how as cheesy as it sounds it was love that healed Max. Because his phobia was such a difficult topic and he and Miah fell for each other off screen, I felt that it could have done with a little more length, which is what kept it from being a 5 star read for me. Nevertheless, it was very sweet and definitely satisfying.

I loved this book despite the stalker like tendencies of Jeremiah. Even after taking advantage of every opportunity to get Max alone, Miah still manages to be sweet and patient with him. Poor Max has good reason for avoiding touch, and putting up the road blocks that he does. How Miah and Max overcome the obstacles to having a relationship and finding love make for a great read!

3.5 to 4 I really like the story line, but even for a short story it moved really fast. Would have like it just a little longer. Some story just need more pages and this one was that for me. From dealing with his phobia and reason for it to new relationship, and learning to trust, that's a lot for only 32 pages. It still is good, but this story line could benefited more if it was longer.

A lovely emotional wonder. Max and Miah, I adored the hot passionate love they had. A few niggles too short and a bit rushed, this could have been expanded into a full length novel there was enough story for it.

Sweet story...a bit short in my opinion for dealing with such a serious matter as Max's phobia, but I did enjoy it!
